Default Classic Ford Show Info !

You guys know whenever I book a show I always make sure you guys come 1st and get looked after but Many if not all of you should know this year Classic Ford show organisers changed the criteria for club stand entrys stating only pre 1990 cars except the sierra are welcome to attend, Many club organisers followed this rule to the letter letting down some real good members who had slightly later cars in fact I had to refund 30 cars as a result and friends of mine who run other clubs did the same ,

Then the organisers decided some mixed content car clubs would be allowed to attend but strictly on the ouskirts, which was too late for many clubs including us to do anything about, but we was told as we filled the criteria 100% we would all be given a decent position so all was not lost

NOTE
Although passes state section G we will be on tarmac fairly close to the section G so keep a look out and arrive early to avoid traffic delays

I'm camping at this, 3 of us, purchased all the camping gear etc, be easier to take my focus estate and leave it in the car park, rather than trying to fit everything in a escort cab boot.

Use about 1/3 less fuel too

Classic ford is a massive show. I think there is nothing wrong with the location.

Considering there will be a big collection of other stands there like last year.

The closer locations are probably reserved for the more suited classic fords such as mk1's mk2's etc.

TBH the ford scene in general is dying and getting smaller each year.
I still love my cossie and getting together with my mates for a rip up on the roads, but other than that the show scene and this forum aint the same any more.

Ive been going to Santapod since I was 23 now im 45 and still well into my old fords ...

Tell you what G is taking the piss ive never ever been up that far !

Also they need to realize how much revenue the Ford brigade brings in over the year and yes its not the best of places esp as its suppose to be the best track in the uk.

Poor very poor !!!

lmao, I don't mind getting stoned as long as the gtr is left out of it lol

it would be nice to come though if I can make it, my mate is camping on the Saturday night he will be on the piss for sure....

I guess the old v8 Dutton would be abit more fitting as its got the reg, steering column and fuel tank from a mk2 Cortina but its also scary as hell to drive

Not happy with that location at all but some clubs will always be on the outside.

If I can't swap shifts on Saturday (I finish @ 0125 Sunday morning, home about 0150) I wont even bother going.

I can see both points to be fair. PF is a big club in a way and at fordfair we had a massive stand etc. but that doesn't mean it should get priority at classic ford. There are much bigger and more appropriate clubs for classics fords than us lot.

Steve - Of the 56 club bookings taken so far, you were the 53rd. The stand location reflects that. You should have been made aware of that at the time of booking and not been promised a good location.

Edit: Its worth mentioning that the organisers are very appreciative of you taking the time to select the most suitable cars. Let's just hope the other club secretaries will be as thorough.

lets be real, everyone walks around the whole place so i'm sure your car will get seen. yes its a hike to the trade stands, but the mk1/2 escort brigade bring in a huge amount of cash to the place so they will get priority i assume.
i am more dissapointed at the age ban. does this mean escort cosworths are unwelcome. i will have a look at the weather sunday morning to decide if i'm going.

I think the point Steve is trying to make is, Clubs in T1 and T2 will have cars on their stands outside the criteria yet PF Stand is 100% correct for the criteria yet in G ?
