Hello !
Has anybody out there ever converted a mk4 escort to the looks of a mk 3? I've got a tidy(ish) Mk 4 XR3I but really prefer the looks of the mk3 all the mk3's i've looked at are either 2 expensive or complete dogs! Just wondering if anybody has done it and what panels are required I can do all my own welding so thats not a problem Any advice comments etc would be gratfully recieved :D |

Not to sure yet, cars red so might go for the 16i rather than the S1 :? |
if youre gonna change all the panels listed above, a colour change wouldnt bee to much extra work ;)
|
True but i think i like red :top:
Plus if i was to change the colour i'd want it done properly ie bareshell respray  Used to have a white micra  and that was a bugger to keep clean as is my wife's black focus  |
fair enough, red RSi's look rather nice
|
if u can weld theres half the battle a cant so hav 2 get me best mate to do it while a tell him were and wen it goes good look a fancy caspin blue for my rs16i van like or while [yawn]again for my new van then al hav a series 1 and 16i van white

conversion
Have just had my MK3 30,000 genuine miles! Converted into S2 RsT. Was a nightmare the following were changed for the conversion:- Bonnet, wings, front panel, scuttle, tailgate, rear panel cos lights sit different, front suspension inc anti-roll bar, doors (cos the trim fixings inside are different) even the bulk head is bloody different where the steering column mounts up. Also in my conversion the engine mount on the inner wing required changing cos the engine sits low in a MK3! :wall: Ur conversion shouldnt be too bad if ur just going for external looks only.
Was it worth it? In this case it is a mint car even the underneath was taken back to shiny metal and acid etched etc. May add a couple of photos when i work out how to do it. |
fawdy mk3 converted to mk4? are you mad
