Well guys - good news is that i've finally sorted myself out with an engine and gearbox!
As some of you might know, last year when i was studying Motorsport Engineering, i spent every Friday at Power Engineering in Uxbrige just helping out and learning what i could where i could...
Also, as a member of Ford Focus Owners Club, i used to see a lot of the big power turbo conversions taking place and was fortunate enough to help out with a few of them.
One of the most 'famous' was the club chairman, Lee Surrey's car.
He's now breaking his car and selling it in bits - and knowing he'd only done 5,000 miles since it was built - and more importantly knowing how well it had been built - phone calls were made!
The spec list i'd set myself for my engine build was only fractionally different to his and at about half the price!
Goes something along the lines of:
PE Custom Grind Cams
Vernier Pulleys
Ported/Polished Head
Mahle Pistons
Arrow Low Comp Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
etc. etc.
Also collected his Focus RS Gearbox
Just got to get these to the guy doing my welding and get him to mount them for me!

I'm hoping to get it back end of the month - then a flat out rush to try and get it roadworthy for the show season
Chris, the guy who's doing the bodywork for me is going to fabricate up the engine and gearbox mounts for me and weld them into the bay before it gets sprayed - i've given him some rough designs to work from but a lot of it will be 'suck it and see' fitment He's also going to try and get that Skyline intercooler into the front end
Then i've got to get the Focus RS driveshafts into the Focus RS box and then measure them and get them shortened, rejoined and balanced - then its time to get my hands dirty again and rebuild her!
Once all that's done and dusted there's only the small issue of rewiring her and getting her down to Power Engineering to get the mapping checked and tweaked on the OMEX

OK guys, i was really in two minds as to whether to share these photos with you but i figured you've seen everything 'warts and all' so far, so i'd let you see the work thats gone into the shell 'rust and all'.
It's not pretty. And what's scary is that the huge amount of serious structural rot is virtually undetectable from the outside.
We did a mock fit with that huge intercooler and its a very very tight squeeze and the end tanks will need a little work but other than that it fills the gap well and truly!!!
These photos should give you an idea of the work that's going into the shell

Cheers guys, the 2.0 Zetec Engine and Focus RS box are now in and mounted, the Focus RS Driveshafts have now been inserted and measured ready for shortening, re-welding and balancing...
We've designed and starting building a new custom radiator for it as we doubted the Pace alloy rad was going to be up to the job
I've got to say a huge thankyou to the guy who's doing the bodywork for me, his history of building hot-rods and the like has given me the confidence to keep going with some of the more adventourous stuff...
There'll be photo's to follow shortly...
Oh. And ebay landed me a rather nice Holley wet nitrous kit at the weekend
Cliff - you ain't the only one chasing 400bhp mate
