decided to start putting the rover inlet together this morning...

rover fuel rail with fiesta turbo pressure regulator and injectors

fuel rail bolted to lower half of manifold

idle control valve temporarily bolted to the upper half of the inlet
(need some new bolts before i bolt it down permanently)

fiesta turbo throttle body temprarily bolted to manifold
(as with the ISCV i need some new bolts and a gasket)

the 'nearly' finished article

got a nice smile on my face now, looking forward to seeing it bolted onto the engine

shotblasted the 1.8 escort sump and dipstick tube, then gave the dipstick tube a lick of black paint

block is now mounted on my engine stand, and has also had a coat of black hammerite

the factory that makes the 1.8 zetec oil pumps are out of stock for the near future which was a problem as i needed one, but managed to get hold of one from bassboy

now i have all the bits i need to assemble the bottom end, will get cracking through the week

was in the garage before work today, made a bit of progress on the block

fitted oil spray jets and main bearing shells

crank laid into position, with a drop of oil on the bearing faces

fitted pistons to the rods

not the greatest pic, but none the less its one piston into its new home

main and big end caps fitted and torque'd down , oil pump also fitted

all 4 pistons showing in the new bores

will get the bottom end finished when i get up in the morning

pm's replied to boys

cleaned the inlet and exhaust valves up earlier on today

the exhaust valve in the middle has been cleaned, while the outer two are still covered in deposits

didnt bother with a before and after photo of the inlet valves as they werent that different, both pretty clean

inlet valve on the left, exhaust valve on the right, notice the size difference
