not too sure yet, havent cleaned round as far as that yet, they seem pretty good at first glance but that could just be me being optomistic!! underseal does hide a lot of shite unfortunately

Your right about that!!! There must be at least 3 maybe Mk3/4 Escort being Zetec'd including this one

Pehaps it's it cheaper than it used to be with more people doing them and the knowledge being passed around

Look good matey

Well, I wouldn't put it quite like that, and it's hardly 3000 odd examples

Beside, how many will be completed? Very tough project I think sticking a Zetec in anything 1980s era!

I think it's wicked

AD-RS1600i, suppose it could be tricky over the next few months but its gonna be enjoyable too

after the bloody rain stopped play all day today i managed to get outside at about 7pm once it was dry and do a bit of graft all be it the quiet kind.

stripped out the front door cards and ductwork for the vents in the dash, looks like its had a pair of doors fitted in the past judcing by the red on the inside of the door

stripped out the washer bottle for the rear wiper jet and also the plastic shelf bits that the parcel shelf rests on, they were rivotted in, had to drill the rivots out to remove them is this normal ??

then off came the rear bumper and the spoiler, aswell as the blue oval badge

looks like its had another bit of repair work judging by the bodge on the lower rear part of the rear arch

and also the tow eye is rusty as fook, think this is gonna go the journey and get smoothed over

a) strip it and go for a 6 point cage, 2 bucket seats with harnesses?
or

Strip it for sure
You just know you're going to track it when it's finished , it'd be rude not too with the spec you're going for

Filthy Rich, that is just sooo true

heres the update today, started late cos i was out on the pop last night n felt a bit rough this morning

rear left wheel arch all underseal stripped off here now, will get it back to bare metal tomorrow

lovely bit of rot where the sill meets the inner arch on the passenger side

and aonther bit of rot where the inner arch meets the rear valance, was bodged up very poorly cos when i started working on it the property pages from a 1999 newspaper fell out

drivers side rear arch half done

and the rot on drivers side where the inner wing meets with the sill and also where it meets with the rear valance

and the easiest job of today, i removed the sticky remains of the spoiler and ford badge along with the FORD and RS1600i stickers

thats all for today folks, im off to get pissed again

Wow m8, respect for the nerve to restore that shell, mine is just like that, allways pached up the crappy way, looks like hell
I'm gonna get myself another shell, I lost my interest in restoring it when I found all the crappy repairs and a hole in the roof

Willem, it'll probs be cheaper and easier getting your shell repaired by someone than buying another shell mate another mk3 shell will probs need work doing!!

Twins, the rivots just didnt seem right, but my mate has them on his series 2 rs turbo so they must be right as you say

Rab, we'll see 2moro rab

luke89, havent got much choice really bud

NUTS RuS, jammy baxtered, anywya will hopefully have this done asap.

cheers fir the comments guys im completely dying to have a drive of my baby with the 2.1 t34 all setup, see how she performs hopefully be enough to see of the odd saxo etc

Rab, not just yet, still got the drivers side rear and both sides of the front floor finish, then i'll put the rear suspension back on, spin the car round and remove the engine and everything from the front end and clean that up before i get onto welding holes etc.

winston, i keep telling myself that cos it doesnt half take away your enthusiasm scraping the same area for hours n hours!!!!
