Fiesta to Puma Conversion won't Start

Hi all,

Converting my fiesta and have nearly finished, im at the point now where the engine will turn over on the starter but it doesnt kick in to run on its own. Ive been doing all this souly off of a heynes manual (and with the determination to make the car quicker) to perform an engine change and have no outside knowlage on this so don't know where to look to solve it.

First i checked the fuel-in line and its still dry, so i checked the fuel pump on the tank and its still connected to the two pipes and electrical plug, with no leaks. is there a certain process to mannually suck through the fuel mannually to the engine because there may be air in the system as i've had to open it to change it? Like a technique to starting a dry engine?

Not sure what to do next so anything is welcome.

I did the same conversion last year so know a bit about a puma'd fiesta.
Have you got the correct immobiliser chip in the key fob which should have come with the puma ECU?

Can you hear the pump prime when you switch the ignition to position 2?

Yeah i swapped out the key barrel, immobiliser and ecu from the puma into the fiesta

I can hear a whir noise but im not 100% sure what that is

maybe i can check that i havent mixed up the immobilisers and put back the fiesta one

I can't hear anything from the fuel pump in the rear just in the engine bay there's a noise.

Ive checked and it is the right immobilizer too

Is there anything else I can check?

Sounds like the pump is working if you can hear the whirrrr noise,
how have you done the wiring for the conversion?
I assume you have transferred over the entire puma engine loom and fusebox into the fiesta?

It was the pump making the whirring sound and from there I found out it had a fuel cut off switch, in the passenger footwell, which I needed to be reset, and now it's starts up every time :)
Thanks for all the help it's much appreciated

I have this problem too

I swapped out my T reg 1.25 with digital dash for a 1.7 Puma lump which had been fitted in a zetec S I got the engine bay loom , complete engine box manifold , ecu everything needed well I assume but it will not fire up the most I got was it fired but died straight away
now I’m guessing the puma loom was out off a later one as it had two lamba sensors but everything went in ok and the only management code I’m getting is fuel level sensor circuit but the gauge works fine I’m scratching my Head a bit
