hi everyone not a great deal to update on although just received my collins i flash unit so the car will be getting cp2 power tomorrow Iv installed it onto the laptop ready for when the wife gets back from work tonight. Looking forward to the map as iv heard nothing but good things and will certainly get an uprated intercooler to help keep the temps down and hold onto the power.

mate i honestly cant get over just how good they are, no doubt in my mind they should of had the rs badge imo. I had a good chat with the guys from collins and they were saying the reason the engine is so robust and tunable is it was actually earmarked for the proposed fiesta rs that never happened of course.

well just like that i have a bit more to update on

after watching many videos on youtube iv decided to get a cobra 3" cat back resonated system as i think this will be the best for what we want, ( if the car was just mine it would be fully non resonated haha)

iv also purchased an airtec stage 2 intercooler after doing quite a bit of research especially with mapping the car i want to make sure we have the benefit of all the extra power all the time.

iv booked the car in at my mates up at GT Motorsport in stoke on friday 6th july to get them fitted and said he may as well fit the rear engine mount at same time (saves my back getting under the car and tbh im flat out with work when we get back off hols)

well thats the car mapped via the collins i flash unit, what a doddle to do great support from them guys as always.

not drove the car yet as the wife has gone to pick our son up but it certainly sounded a bit meatier on tickover and it was defo not in my head as the wife said exactly the same without me saying anything.

They're tough motors too. Physically it would be an easy fit into the Fusion engine bay, so take care when parking near my house...

exactly mate from what i was told they were meant for a proposed fiesta rs that never happened.

I'm on my second one of these, terrific little car my first one had a cp2 map and a cp torque mount which made the car. My current one has a Revo Stage one map and stock torque mount why the previous owner didn't have one fitted is beyond me haha. Torque steer is a bit of a problem so that's my next purchase.. Theres a ecoboost motor fitted to a mk1 fiesta on here.

tomorrow afternoon ill be having a few hours giving the car a little detail ready for its trip down to newquay, weather is looking a bit suspect though so i may be dodging the rain.

looking forward to the drive doing and testing this new cp2 map out

still waiting on exhaust and intercooler to arrive from AET Motorsport, hoping it arrives tomorrow just been informed it will arrive tomorrow by the guys there.

thought i would report my findings on the collins cp2 map

it drives really nice imo, defo irons out a bit of the un smooth parts of the oe mapping. obviously with doing mostly motorway driving it was in 6th gear alot through variable speeds (roadworks etc).
One thing what really struck me was just how much torque it had got from 50mph onwards in 6th felt like you were in 4th and you are tempted go for another gear haha.

iv got to have a check on the trip computer but im sure it averaged 43-45mpg and did 286 miles to just a tad over half a tank so i thought that was very impressive, we are now running the car on super unleaded also now that its mapped.

All in all very impressed obviously we had a fully loaded car as well so money well spent and would highly recommend it.

looking forward to fitting the airtec intercooler as the oe one just about copes at standard power.

not really a massive deal to update on, the car is still running perfectly honestly cant fault it at all.

I have purchased a 3" bore cobra cat back resonated exhaust system and a vudu 3" decat downpipe and a set of powerflex exhaust mounts to replace the oe rubber ones which im led to believe move about a bit too much on a 3" system. I have done loads of research into what system should work best for us especially for the wife as she uses the car daily and this one should be perfect.

Also i have bought an itg crossover pipe and pro alloy enlarged turbo elbow both second hand but in vgc and got them at a real good price

should be getting this fitted in early September then might take the car upto WGT in Middlewich to stick it on there dynapack hub dyno to give me an idea of how its performing.

iv had a postponement on a job i was meant be starting today, so every cloud and all that iv decided to go and finally take the car and get the x4 uniroyal rainsport 3s fitted.
Had them stored in the garage from virtually when we bought the car and now that the roads are getting wetter its showing up just how terrible these ditch finders are that are currently on the car.
Always been impressed with the rainsport 3 tyres iv had and got them on various motors always with a positive improvement

good thing is they will be fitted just in time for our little bank holiday break up the lake district

well had a lovely break up the lake district for the bank holiday weekend, can was as always faultless throughout, really love the cp2 map thats on there and cant wait to add this other hardware i have .

its such a effortless car to drive on motorways which is a real bonus and we managed to get out and take advantage of some of the amazing roads up the lakes and thats where i was really impressed with just how well it held the road on the new rainsport 3 tyres they really do give you alot more confidence and bring the car to life.

The one thing i do really think that require upgrading are the brakes as i think they could be far better than standard (anyone with any recomendations please feel free to tell me)

Otherwise another massive thumbs up for our little family motor, next up is to get the decat and exhaust fitted along with enlarged turbo elbow and crossover pipe.

bit of a double edged update here

Firstly the crappy british roads claimed another victim on wednesday, got a phone call from the wife saying the rear tyre was flat as hell after hitting an unavoidable pot hole (shock horror).

Luckily she was only around the corner from a tyre shop to where they fount the side wall was completely shot and beyond repair baring in mind these tyres were only fitted the tuesday prior to this.

So she had to get an Avon tyre put on as they didnt stock rainsport 3s but i told her make sure you get the best wet grip rated one, was not happy to be paying out again so soon and a claim has gone in to the council iv honestly never known the roads be anywhere near as bad as they are this year.

secondly

Iv booked the car in with my mark Mark at GT Motorsport in stoke on 14th September to get my decat and cobra cat back resonated exhaust system fitted, along with enlarged crossover pipe, turbo elbow and turbosmart kompact shortie dual bov
Usually id fit the last 3 myself as they really aint hard jobs at all but im flat out with work atm doing 6-7 days per week and any spare time i of course want spend with my family etc so thought may as well get it all done whilst off the road that day.

Hi mate yes the beauty of the CP2 map is that it can be fitted on a standard car, but its made for all the stage 2 hardware so it can adjust to any bits you add down the line

well a tiny update i dropped a bit of a clanger and double booked myself with work so had to change the date my car goes to get the work done, plus side is its being done on Weds 12th September now

I have also purchased genuine Ford 5w30 oil & filter & spark plugs so going to do a little mini service on the car as last one was at 33k ( now on 43k)

Still booked on to run the car on the dyno at WGT on the 15th, going to be a busy morning as iv got go set a colleague up on a job then go to quote another before making the trip to Middlewich by 10am

Also read the news that an update is coming for us guys running CP2 my guess is revised mapping safely yielding more power to bring it into line with competitors power figures but we will see (i hope im right haha)

Well today i decided to bite the bullet and splash out quite a bit more of my well earned money on the car

first of all iv never been happy with the brakes im not sure if OE ST180 brakes are poor but ours really dont cut it our old pug 308 hdi brakes were far sharper, this could be down to somebody using rubbish discs/pads before we bought the car though.

so iv got this kit for the fronts from AET Motorsport
https://www.aetmotorsportshop.co.uk/...-brake-package

Then i wanted to improve on the handling but due to where we live atm lowering the car would be a problem so iv gone for the following

summit front strut brace
summit rear strut brace
summit lower rear beam 2 point torsion link bar
whiteline rear anti roll bar
powerflex rear spring upper isolators

i think the above should really bring things together and take a fair bit of flex out of the chassis and will all be in place for when we can finally lower the car

Have you read about the bov , both gfb DV+ and turbosmart bov having lots of problems and leaking, I want to fit one but when I spoke to Collins they said use the standard ford divertor valve. Let me know if it all goes well or if you have any issues etc.
parts look good mate and I bet you are looking forward to getting the exhaust fitted.
is your exhaust 3inch all the way ? , iam looking at enhance performance ultimate exhaust system as the look the dog bollocks but they only make a single tailpipe design , I asked if the would be willing to make me a double so it looked standard and they said no . If you can do a video when you've got it fitted that would be great as iam still not 100% sure which system to but

keep up the good work.

Cheers paul

Hi mate yes iv read mixed things about turbosmart stuff i will defo keep my eye on things, see how it goes & report back

massively looking forward to getting all these bits fitted as it will be a few more bits ready to go CP5 when the time comes

yes its 3" decat downpipe into a full 3" bore system i have watched so many vids and asked that many people about what would be best, if it was me id have the de res version but iv gotta think of the wife as she uses the car 90% the time. I actually quite like the single exit design especially the 4" outward rolled ones mongoose/cobra do remind me of rs turbo/cosworths they also really suit an oval design tailpipe imo.

I will do my very best get a few vids but as you will find it seems the vids dont manage to pick up what you want etc but ill defo give it a go

Should be a right little flyer with all them bits fitted. I read something in fast ford mag last month that there's something in the fuel pump that wears fast and will rob a lot of power. It's something worth looking at and is supposed to be a fairly easy and cheap fix.

Right then everyone we had the decat and exhaust system fitted along with the crossover/turbo elbow & bov.

All i can say is wow what a difference it now sounds like a proper old school turbo car really meaty, burbles lovely some fantastic natural crackles etc and it looks really good just a wider version of what was already there
One thing i will say is what i think most already know the many vids on youtube really dont pick the sound of the exhausts up well they are far louder in person and certainly turns heads.
Also its obviously louder inside the car more so with being decatted id imagine but its still ok doesnt make your ears bleed but we are yet to take the car on a decent sized run.

Iv only got to drive the car for about half an hour but the wife seems to be living with it fine and she is adamant the car is quicker, i personally think thats just a placebo effect of the noises etc, oh yeah the bov sounds good but im leaving it upto the wife if she wants to keep it on or not

I have had to postpone the dyno run until the end of this month as iv gotta go work on saturday due to falling a day behind on wed (van failed mot)

I will also for sure be going for the CP2-R upgrade when its released so defo want dyno the car before and after.

Fitted the Summit rear upper strut brace on weds afternoon but not had a chance get out in the car since to see if i could feel any difference.

All i can say is wow what a difference it now sounds like a proper old school turbo car really meaty, burbles lovely some fantastic natural crackles etc and it looks really good just a wider version of what was already there
