So with his Golf R sold the 2JZ BMW still a while away the Fiesta will be getting some use (when the salt is off the roads). Priority was some way the charge a phone and a cup holder!!
The flexible fuel lines had started to perish so this was completely re done with hard pipe and an fittings.

A much tidier solution

A switch was added to the clutch pedal so flat foot shifting could be enabled.

Pedals and cam cover painted and installed.
USB charger fitted, it’s a disgrace Ford never fitted this when the car was new!🤣🤣🤣

I like his attention to detail adding the little bracket so the clutch switch is being pushed in its designed direction.

Attended Crail 1/4 mile drag strip yesterday and was timed at 13.9@105. Fastest in its class (up to 2 litre fwd)

Well just when I thought it wouldn’t be developed anymore he has started collecting parts for a ST170 gearbox this has very similar ratios to the IB5 he made from several boxes but obviously has another gear to make it slightly more bearable at motorway speeds. Ear protection is required atm with the engine screaming at cruising speeds. Oh and a rear beam to modify to give so negative camber to control the oversteer action on track.
A picture of progress of his 1 series.

Realistically this is still a few years away.

After another alternator failure (3 in 3 years) he done some calculations and it’s spinning at 22k at maximum engine speed even at 5k engine speeds the alternator is above the15k maximum and with the crazy gearing, cruising on the motorway is 5k!!!
A new voltage regulator and larger pulley should have it going again.

Finally a better breather system.

This part is on the block. It’s a nicely machined piece.

Stealth catch can.

Breather setup look great, what have you done where the fumes come out, did you run a pipe away from the engine bay to stop any smells?

ITB's don't make it easy for sorting engine breathing!

There is a filter on the catch can (no shown in the picture) that he hope will stop any fumes but there may be further revisions as this is rev.2 the first attempt didn’t go well 😬

Yes it’s a absolute riot.
He said to me the other day that there can’t be many fiesta’s like his with a lower top speed… it goes from 0- max in around 17 seconds the 60-100 time is up there with some decently fast cars.

No progress on the Fiesta NOS installation but plenty on his other project.
If any Ford fans are interested in a German car with a Japanese engine here are some pictures. It does have a Cosworth radiator.

How it is atm. Wiring just started, all fuel, oil and water lines are done with just the boost control solenoid to finish.

4” downpipe. I think the whole exhaust will be 4” to be bigger than his brother’s turbocharged Integra😁

No more updates for a while☹️
He has never finished the NOS install due to spending all the time on his 2JZ 1 series and realistically you can only do one at a time.
The MOT ran out last week and it will go into hibernation until the BMW is completed.
He has plenty of things to do before it comes out again, obviously finish the NOS and install the ST170 gearbox with a plated diff. that he has waiting.

As explained no progress on the nos or the ST170 gearbox fitting but new parts that I have never seen before have been bought.
One of the first things son No.1 did when he purchased the car in 2011 was the fit the Engelmann mirror (copies) and now we have Ford branded Engelmann copies?
Anyone seen them before.

The mirror’s currency fitted

Sports mirrors.

The look the same as Engelmanns.

….but with Ford branding.
