Only down side is I don't know how many 'Ford' shows ill be doing...You will never realise how many dirty looks and snardy comments you get being an Asian walking around a Ford show! The comments I got after unveiling my Escort RST at shows was enough to put you off for life! Even when I had my FRS, I didn't bother with many Ford days! I think there was one I went to at Santa Pod in my Focus RS...my boost pipe came off on the way up...approached a race team who had a full on workshop near enough in the tent, asked for a 10mm spanner or ratchet...got told he didn't have one...I smiled turned around and walked away. Told a friend of mine who was with me, Tony, skinhead...intimidating looking guy but soft as a bear lol (hes a member on here too)...he walked up to the same guy, not even 2 mins later, guy gave him the spanner...how wrong is that?? My car was around 20meters from where the tent was!

I love my Fords as much as the next guy...the racism...not so much
That is so fucking wrong I think I would have shoved his toolbox up his arse.
Do not be put off by the few go and enjoy yourself with your mates.

It's a shame there are too many divvys in the Ford scene.

I will help anyone. A good example of this is when a lad broke down at central day RS show in his 3dr cossie. His coil had packed up. He was going around asking people if they had one. I borrowed him a spare one I had in the boot.

He left me some money as a deposit just in case he thought I didn't think he would bring it back lol.

Its something you enjoy, don't let others ruin it!

I've followed a few of your builds on here over the years and you have talent, I guess others are just Jealous of you doing something properly.

I'd have never guessed a tdi golf for the seats, the handles on the side remind me of the usual one's audi/vw use. You going to retrim them or leave them how they are?

To be honest guys, it doesn't get to me like it used to...I used to be pretty hot headed which is bad when youre surrounded by what seems like a bunch of white supremacists LOL!

I shrug it off and just get on with my life...our passion is cars...just admire the metal work and carry on lol...we all bleed the same colour lol

At the end of the day...I build my car for me...if I put up a build thread its just to show my workmanship, nothing more nothing less

Cant wait to get cracking with the car again!

Ignore the twats, there are good people in the scene too. You can borrow my tools anytime you like at a show.

Some of the Asians that used to meet at the Aces cafe did not help with people's pre-conceptions as they acted like idiots but then so did a lot of other people.

Ill update with that I have so far

Speaker pods made for the kick panels...these house 7inch midrange/midbass speakers...its all a temp install in there just to get some music in the car

I tried some LED H4 and although close up, the light output was amazing, the light pattern at any reasonable distance was shocking and left dark spots where the light was needed most...

As the car was on coilovers on the front and what were meant to be -30mm rear springs...it really needed more lows on the rear...so I bought some new rear Gaz coilovers to put on the car...they went straight on with no problems...Ill get some pictures of the coilovers as I know they are on my camera lol

Keep the progress coming
It’s gonna be a stunner

If you accidentally make a spare pair of footwell speaker pods I’d take a pair off you

Really enjoying seeing your progress. I need to sort out a small install in my 944 when I pick it up, I found out they did a ten speaker system so currently researching to see if its worth getting.

I miss the bose system my audi had, that wasn't bad.

Its always worth upgrading, but IMO, stay away from the OEM upgrades...its possible to get something far better for less money! If you need any help, just give me a shout anytime and ill be happy to help you out

Thank you! Its nice to hear people still want to help others.

I'm hoping to keep the interior looking vagely OEM with a decent setup as well if thats possible.

Im sure theres more of us willing to help than anyone realises...sometimes I feel in the same boat! Everyones out to critisize and judge rather than offering advice!

But yes, keeping it very stock looking is easily achievable...can even make your own grilles etc to fit over the speakers to hide them etc.

Shoot me over some pictures of the interior and the stock locations and lets see what you have to work with and take it from there

Cheers all and sorry for not being to update as often as I should!

well the car is still going strong! With the help of 2 friends, Max and Gavin, I have been able to switch the engine out and its now a 1.8 zetec turbo which is just a thrown in engine so we can dial out any gremlins with the gearbox and brake setup, and get some of the pipework knocked up, as when switching to the 2 litre, it should be a straight swap.

The car is now running a bog standard 1.8 zetec black top with a T3 turbo chucked on for good measure. And just for giggles, added my Jenvey inlet manifold! This is bolted to a standard 2.0 Zetec Gen Ford clutch which doesnt like much power at all lol. Gearbox wise is now a Focus RS Mk1 gearbox with a mounting kit and shafts from Crazycage. Brakes wise, Focus RS master cylinder/servo setup coupled with ST170 front discs and calipers which fit behind the S1 RS Turbo wheels.

Management is now Megasquirt MS3X after having a complete nightmare with the VEMS I was originally planning to use. The MS3 definitely is a little easier to work with although still very fiddly. I still have a sync-issue only when the car is warm (coolant temp reading above 88degrees), below this, car drives lovely...soon as it hits that temp or high, at approx 1200rpm, the car cuts out for what must be half a second before kicking back to life, the entire ECU turns off and then back on again as even my rev counter dies for that half second. Still chasing this issue!

Other than a few teething problems, thats where I am now and hoping to get a ST170/blacktop hybrid built up for around 300hp over the next few months
