Transit cosworth rebuild project
This transit use to be imperial blue then somebody decided to paint it black with orange stripes.
Ive replaced everything on the back end and beefed up all the brackets and hangers for the 5 link set up.
The rear axle is having a brake disc conversion this is being done by Mark at MK Motorsport AP four pot
calipers with also be fitted and a brake bias control .
There will also be a pair of six pot calipers fitted on the front I've also decided to make the front end all adjustable too.
Once the floor and arches are welded in I will then sort the front end out welding in adjustable turret tops.
The bottom arms will either be converted to rose joints or I might make a new pair tubular arms I haven't made
a decision yet so we will see.
I will be putting it back into imperial blue but that is a while off yet.
There will be another 3 recaro seats going in the rear these will sit over the rear turrets and brace.
I have also got all original ford panels to finish this off.

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
His work is great, really good eye for detail and considering how the van was when he got it. He has done some great work with rebuilding the back end. You could carry an Abrams tank on that now. But like he says a long way to go even with his two left hands.

Chassis and floor supports welding and fabrication
A lot of welding and fab work it will be worth it in the end.
the suspension turrets originally were welded to the floor when I started this I noticed the turrets were being
pushed outwards hence the reason I've gutted everything and starting again.
you will see in pics I will post later the axle bar hangers are totally distorted that's when I decided to chop
everything out.

Pan hard rod mounting point fabricated and strengthened
This bracket for the pan hard rod was originally welded to the O/S chassis trouble is they could not lay down a decent weld all the way round.
when I scraped all the sealant from the chassis there was a crack were it was welded also the bracket on the axle had been repaired in the past .
you will see in these pics I've strengthened it and I've been able to weld it all the way round .
the rear inner and outer valance have also been replace I was lucky enough to pick up an original ford panel the fit was perfect

Axle bar hangers cut out and replaced
You will see in the first few pictures how the hangers are distorted and are definitely not staying on any longer.
The O/S lower axle bar has sustained some damage I've no idea how see how the bar is bent out of shape.
However because of the Damage the hanger, and bracket on the axle were bent out of alignment by 10mm there was also a few cracks in the hanger
The N/S was in better condition but because the bolts used axle and hanger ends were threaded all the way.
They actually destroyed the rose joints and crush tubes in the bushes wore them out and the pick up holes were 2 mm bigger then needed.
The new hangers I've made have now got the ability to be adjusted both ends now and not just the axle end.
Just one question why would there be a nylon bushes in both lower axle bars and two black poly bushes in the top axle bars ?
im asking this because if there is a good reason for this I will replace the same.
Or I will replace with all poly bushes any ideas please.

Bugger me you don't hang about. It's looking bomb proof already. Do you have all the tools in your workshop for this stuff or are you getting stuff sorted elsewhere and welding it up in your garage?

All being done in my shed I have a lot of tools if I don't have then I will make it if I can the only work that's been carried out by a professional is my brake bells and caliper brackets by Mark at Mk Motorsport
