I know they share the same platform, but do you find the sportka and fiesta strangely similar in the way they drive etc I know I did when I had one, even things like the way the doors closed. It was weird seeing as there was over 10 years between my 2 examples.

I know there are loads of parts the same. But I have only ever driven Fiestas with no power steering and to be honest the wife doesnt let me near her Sportka's (none of them)

Thats got a big mix and match of XR/RS1800/RS turbo parts!

I like that an owner stayed true with the blue inserts and side mouldings. The tailgate decal is abit low though!

Will you be fitting XR2i alloys or something better than the MK5? fiesta ones already fitted?

I agree with the RS turbo parts pal. As for the rs1800, that and the xr2i 16v where basically the same car bar the recaro bucket seats (still had the same material but in wing backs, same door cards and same rear seats. And the Rs1800 was a 130bhp zetec where as this is 105bhp zetec.

The bonnet, current front seats and pop out windows are rs turbo.

After doing some digging and a few people showing me original brochures etc the 18.16v xr2i didnt have side moulding or bumper inserts just the earlier 1.6 ones did.

I have managed to get some original wheels they are currently at the powder coaters being refurbed. I will put them on before I make a final decision about ride height

I've got a spare bootlid down the side of my garage, wouldn't mind a spare rear bumper though as I've got the space to store bits here if needed...
I may have a run up at some stage and take a look, I'm probably only half hour away and have never been there

Great to see another old ford saved. Are you restoring the car back to original spec? If so the wheels that you have just refurbed were fitted to the XR3i 16v. The XR2i had 5 spoke alloys in 14" with a squarer spoke if that makes sense. Just thought that i would mention it incase you was unaware but keep up the good work mate.

Yeah I noticed this boo boo when they came back from powdercoat. They where listed as xr2i 16v on ebay and I just bought them, they came wrapped up and I sent them straight to powder coat. ooops haha

I'm not too fussed as these wheel look lovely now and I am sure they will look nice on the Fiesta. I will keep my eyes peeled for a set of xr2i 16v wheels (even though they look pretty boring ha)

As for standard I am still not sure. This car should not have the blue bumper inserts, blue side rubbers, turbo bonnet or pop out windows but I kind of like them. So we will see.

Usual story mate. Wish I could keep them but with the Evo due today. I only have space for one car at a time.

Painful
