Importing A Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 From Japan - Updated 08-05-2018
Importing A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 From Japan To The UK.
In this video I will go through all the fees involved with importing a car from Japan using an Import Agent.
I plan on importing a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 and seeing how much money I save doing it myself.

Well after hours of searching and sending emails I have finally settled on an import agent I feel comfortable enough with to help me import a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 from Japan.
I have gone with Patrick at JDM Auction Watch. In this video I go through JDM Auction Watch website and why I chose them.

Well it is MOT day tomorrow for the Fiesta RS1800.
Still need to do the front suspension and exhaust but apart from that it just need a respray.
Its a shame really because the car is rock solid just the paint work lets it down.
In two minds now whether to bother respraying it.

I seem to have been removed from every Evo group on facebook too for posting these videos.
I've not a clue what all that is about, why would people not want to let people see how to save some money on importing a car?

because people get jealous, they think they are elite for having something others don't.
I'm sure there was someone on here recently that was after a rs1800 and a few threads about his searching and people wasting his time.

I like your films, I like the fiesta, I like an evo6 ( not with a sunroof). My big question is "what the f*^k is going on with the sunglasses "?

Youd be surprised how far people will go to fuck you over when your innocent actions threaten thier income.
same on here when people ask about measurements for rare cossie this or rare WRC that. no one wants to say because either they want to keep it secret to make money themselves or theyve had to fork out loads to buy those parts themselves so why would they help?
sad really.

I got an email through off Patrick saying my bid had won the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 I wanted.
In this video I will tell you how much I won the Evo for and show you more pictures I have been sent.

wont be jealousy. will be the people who run/own/sponsor the forums make a lot of money importing evos and putting a pretty mark up on them and you are telling all the secrets.

I used to have an Evo, The same time as my RS. Make sure you get an induction kit on the Evo, The roar they make are brilliant. I see in the video the exhaust is knackered. I had a trust(Blitz) one on mine and a Blitz dump valve, I had a few pops and bangs in low gears, driving through narrow streets. I'd love to swap my FRST for an Evo VI.
Are you fitting standard lights all round again? Also make sure the AYC has been serviced recently!
T-cut or some 3M polish will bring the paint up nicely on the calipers.
The Evos are good fun to drive, I fit an RS/TME rear boot brace and a Ralliart rear strut brace to mine.

First job is to get all fluids changed and timing belt.

It currently stands me at Ł9080 (that includes all fees, import taxes etc. I will have to pay for delivery from Southampton to my door, then fit a rear fog light, then MOt then Ł55 to register it.
Now I know there are ones over here from Ł8000 upwards but when you look at those cars they can have 8+ owners, you look at mot history and they have corrosion issues and have been welded. The adverts say mileage is a mixture of miles and kms.
At least with mine I know it is totally standard, the Japanese speed re stricter is in place (180kph/115mph), the mileage is correct, it has had one Japanese owner and the underside is like brand new (no salt on the roads in Japan and very little rain.)

Sounds good to me...
I think if I ever bought another Impreza Type R I'd have to have a fresh import to start off with...

I can not believe how honest and accurate the auction sheets are in Japan. Every little ding, scratch, replacement panel etc is noted. Very efficient system.
Once mine arrives and I have a good look around it we will see if it has all been worth it ha

Yeah the auction sheet was spot on probably a little over the top really so really happy.
AYC light is on which is a bummer but I know this is a common fault with them and this reflected in the maximum I wanted to pay for it.
