Default Series 2 escort restoration

After posting in a previous thread for advice decided to try and save my rs a family member who's a dab hand at welding will sort sand/wet blasting welding bodywork paint etc and hopefully arrive back for me to rebuild

Before we started strip down
Interior stripped
Engine and box out with a little help from a good friend
Front suspension abs removed
Bit of work needed inside the bay

Underside under seal and hopefully only surface rust

Nearly there

One shell good to go lol

Looks a good platform to work on, What did you do with the Ł300(as recently seen on eBay) black vinyl sill decals? Did you carefully remove them to re-use them?

Was very hard going the chrome covers were glued solid down used a bit of heat to get them off it has marked the vinyl I've kept them in the hope I can reuse them

The car itself isn't too bad it's opened up a few more holes to sort and still undecided how to tackle the roof, just one crisis at a time

Is that the replica ones some lad was selling for Ł40+ on facebook and eBay?

I'm kinda hoping DMB get hold of a set and re-make them as Ł40+ is far to much for abit of vinyl plastic!

Good that you managed to potentially save them, I've seen people just rip them apart when doing sills. If the marks are visible you can use a sharpie pen and a microfibre cloth and to touch them in.(secret car manufacturing trick to save marked trim)
