Well it’s the final update

After reading more and more about Mark messing people about I’ve had enough.
I took my car to Mark in December 2016. This was after paying him a good few thousand pounds for BESPOKE parts in September of that year. I had to wait til December for a “space”. I took my rolling shell up there which had never been outside for 4 years. I was very excited to be taking my car there. I’d heard my share of bad reports but had made my mind up after meeting him, I could trust him. Big mistake!!! After dropping my car off in December 2016 I returned there unexpected to find my shell still sat outside full of water to the door closures. Still with my sparco detachable steering wheel in place. It’s now mouldy and ruined. I expressed my disappointment and had to leave before I lashed out. Months passed and I had little or no updates but eventually things started to progress. I was happy at first but then the “full spec” cage ( yes mark I have every text and WhatsApp message) turned out to be a clubman spec and every bar and gusset was an extra. I bit my tongue and continued with the work. Months and months passed and slowly parts where ready to collect as he would never post them. After I got my shell back having had extra work done to be paid off monthly I started to fit the parts. Front WRC arms. They rub badly on the brake discs. Touring car style column has 10mm forward and backward play. Adjusters in front and rear arms are too short by over an inch (he had original to copy) pedal box fouls the column. Top mounts have zero adjustment, repair to sill is external only, internal repair I leant him parts to copy, these were returned worse for wear or have never been returned. There are parts of my cage that he couldn’t be arsed to weld.
To paul and markk and all the others that warned me I’m sorry I spouted off I should have listened. Avoid this man!!!!
I still owed him a good few quid when I pulled the plug but Ł950 of that was for an inlet I paid for in September 2016 and never received up to feb 2018. I’ve had to have so much work re-made at my cost plus there’s the damage to my car.

Never even welded this bit of the cage. Same on other side.

The “bespoke” WRC front arms were/are standard cosworth ones with over extended adjusters. They foul the brake discs so much I can’t push the car!
I wish I could remain calm and type more.

Sad to hear, I am not going to have a go pal, you are now just another of the statistics.
I really hope you manage to find the love for your project again.

I (and others) get shot down everytime for trying to help. I just wish people would listen.
Unfortunately Caddyshack, you will be next.
I hope not but you just cannot argue with form.

I blocked him years ago on here so cannot and are happy not to see his comments.

Jon mate you don't have to say sorry at all to me , I was only trying to stop people going through the same shit I went through. We are all car people and like others have said mark has cost them there project , it made me think is it still worth it now .
Mark don't seem to realise that it really does effect some people , finically, mentally , and there day to day well being , some people are hardskinned like me but I had people contacting me and just by reading there post they were in a bad place and could not cope with what mark has done over and over again.
Someone will either sue mark and teach him a lesson or he's going to fuck with someone who doesn't care and don't take to kindly to being ripped off for 20k and there gonna smash him in . As a person I like Mark but I don't like what he does nor do I like the way he thinks taking people's money for years is ok with no return.
I really feel for you mate and if you wanna chat anytime just drop me a pm or call me , chill out , relax , keep calm ( coming from me lol) and don't give up or be put off by this experience you've got a great car and take your time finishing it.
I still finding shit out about certain parts , like the WRC rear cradle which I've just this minute checked my pm and I clearly asked for a escort WRC genuine copied cradle as if I ever need to sell I can sell it on no problems only to find that he's built it to fit original beam mounts on a escort cosworth and all the link mounting points are in the wrong positions compared to the genuine WRC setup. So iam now stuck with a WRC style cradle that doesn't fit my shell . I've decided iam just going to buy genuine wrc parts as they will retain there valve much more than marks parts.
He always stated about Gordon Vincent's cradles and fabricated parts and said they were not up to the job and he could do better , he is a skilled machinist and a good fabricator but when you see the skills of Gordon etc you can see why they built rally cars for years. Copied parts with his own twist , nothing more than any good machinist could do , it's just they don't promise the earth and return nothing.

Cheers paul

Yes hope you do finish it Jon you've gone to far not too mine's been away 3 yrs + now and no end in sight the donors doubled in price since I bought it so many things test you with projects it seems makes it all the more of a great achievement to actually complete one I've thought about giving up so many times but I know I'd regret it and can't have that shut the door on it a while and do it justice when your ready

Never met Mark but after being done over by a garage before I hope you are able to find the heart to finish your project. I unfortunately didn't and two of my projects that had been screwed over by the same two people are now no longer. I just hope Caddyshack/Toby isn't the next one on the list.

The build will continue in time buts it's tucked away right now while I build the new extension and workshop garage.
Muz has come on side now and is flexing his ever growing skills and attention to detail with a host of parts. Fuel cell, millington spec dry sump tank, intercooler end tanks etc etc.
I've had a lot of support from people, thanks for that. For now it's shelved but when it returns I should have corrected all issues and removed all references to people's previous efforts.
