Tell Mark that one of his Kent Cams stickers on the tool cupboards is on at a different angle to the others and watch his eye start to twitch.

Well Mark has been at it again. Quite how you can make metal do the things he does with it is beyond me!
He's extended the cage through to the front turrets. He's then moved onto the hole left from the previous fuel cell sump.
Here's the pictures

Another cage update.
Marks been fitting the mounts for the WRC cradle. I won't be having one any time soon but I'm future proofing
Now I'm a man who loves a gusset,who doesn't!?
Mark being the stickler for detail wasn't happy with the quality of bought in stuff. So he made his own roller. This means bespoke gussets that fit correctly and aren't paper thin.

Well mark has been plodding along with the cradle mounts. It turns out that the front mount is very close to the existing rear subframe mounts. This is good news as I am keeping it fwd for a while until funds allow, so the chassis pick up will add rigidity to the rear end.

Well, it isn't going to lack structural rigidity...that's for sure...looks ace.
Only worry for me is that I am hoping for my fuel rail this week so he needs to stop work for 5 mins on your car.
That is going to be a mental chassis looking for a mad engine.

Cheers fellas. Looking forward to getting it home so I can build it up. If you're tall enough you can take it out once done.
Mat my manifold was made by a good mate that you know. Gary at GR Performance

Will you go straight to paint for the interior? Looking forward to seeing the finished shell.

Yes mate straight for paint. It's going to Bam who has a great reputation on RSOC.
I've got a load of nice suspension parts that Mark has made but they're staying hidden for another day.

Well that's my days work ruined, metalwork porn was amazing enough and then you topped it up with pure filth engine porn! Can't wait to see her finished. Think I may have to upgrade to an Mk1 RS next year.

I know mate she's filthy! I need to recover some of my money so I'll be charging for an hour alone in the garage.

more updates from mark today. Quite how he achieves these high standards is beyond me. He's just sorted the new floor in the car. Just look at the precision. If I did it it would be kinked and scratched etc

Well the final few pieces of the cage have gone in. Just the touring car style column to do I believe. Not long til it's off for paint. Then it's the big build up. Shouldn't take too long as most pieces are sat waiting to go on

Thanks Toby. I was supposed to be picking it up on Friday but I've had a few things happen in my personal life to cause delays so it'll probably be a week later. Mark has had the shell for a while but once the spec was finalised he has worked hard to get it finished for me.

I can see from the progress pics that the rate of work has been pretty quick once it all got started. I am going to watch the build up with interested.
I assume this will look like a Focus RS and be in the Blue (that is how I would do mine...if I were doing it)

Yeah all sorted now thanks.
Yes the car will remain imperial blue at least for the time being. There will be a multitude of decals on it of companies that have helped and contributed. After all it's a track car first and foremost
