Very nice project! I have a similar one in progress. How much did you pay for the Recaro interior? I was considering the Ford Puma front Recaro's and colour matching the rear seat as a cheaper alternative.

I paid £150 mate which I think is a fair price. They do seem to go for a bit more on ebay.
Will be listing the Fiesta RS Turbo Recaros soon I think.
Well I thought I had fixed the fuel leak but I was wrong. The pipe I had fit is now not leaking anymore but yesterday I had the car all ready to go and disaster struck.
I was making a video the other week on the car and it ran out of fuel so I only put a fuel cans worth in. I then sorted the leaky pipe and thought nothing more of it.
As I was bringing the car home from storage for the weekend I nipped to the fuel station to fill up. The car has always been pretty hard to fill up never taking more than £10 without the nozzle clicking then you can probably stick another fiver in tops if you put the fuel in slow.
As I was stood in the queue a could see a puddle of fuel under the car. I drove straight back to work and asked the service manager if he could get it up on the ramps and get the lads to look at it.
An aftermarket breather has been fit above the fuel tank and the original has been by-passed. The head mechanic explained that he thinks when I am putting fuel in it can get in quick enough and the fuel is coming out of the breather as it is acting as a siphon.
He hooked the old breather back up and everything looks to be spot on. Then I remembered the previous owner had mentioned something about the old breather causing a vacuum and causing the fuel tank to IMPLOAD!!!
All though the car runs sweet now I do not want to risk the old breather being blocked and blowing myself up so I have managed to source one from Italy.
The fuel gauge is also not reading right so I have managed to get a new sender which I will fit when I do the breather.
The fan belt is also squealing like a pig so I have also got a new one of these.
Who says owning old cars is fun
I'm finding it pretty frustrating at the minute with the car being stored 50 miles away and only getting to work on it some Sunday mornings but I guess it is what it until I get my house finished and bring it home.
My fan belt was exactly the same, turned out to be a pulley cost me £100 in parts! Seems a big headache you have here. They do drive you mad don't they! I have one more problem to sort on mine (no electric windows or mirrors working) then mot it. Good luck solving the problem! Oh and thanks for the spoiler!

Fingers crossed I think just the fan belt needs changing. As for the cutting out I drove it around all last night and it seemed fine so God knows. Your welcome
Have you tried driving it without the cap, this would tell you whether it is the breather or not.
There is also a shrader valve on the fuel rail - you can then bung a pressure tester and see if you have the correct fuel pressure

I tried it without the cap and it was the same.
I then tried it disconnecting the breather and it ran like new again.
The breather pipe on the top of the tank runs to the breather which is mounted on the fuel filler pipe in the passenger wheel arch (or anti-trickle fill valve as I have found out it is called) Then out of that there is a pipe that runs the full length of the car to a charcoal canister (evaporative emissions control carbon canister.) where it stores the vapours. Then there is a canister-purge solenoid which then puts the vapours into the inlet tract to be burned by the engine during normal combustion.
So the problem looks to be from the breather to that canister. The fuel tank has also imploded again
I'm not too fussed as I'm just glad the car is running right again. I will figure it all out. Respect to the Haynes Manual. Been a nightmare weekend though
Well last night the weather was not up to much so I thought it would be the perfect time to paint my garage floor. If you watched my last video you would of seen I finally got my hands on a garage for my Fiesta.
Two good sweeps and on with the paint. The floor looks miles better now, although not perfect. Luckily I just had enough paint so had to spread it a little thin as I approached the front.
I know a lot of people may already know how to do this but there will be a fair few that don't. Just a quick video on how to test a fuel sender unit is working correctly if your fuel gauge is not reading right.
It's not everyday you stumble across 12 brand new centre caps for the Ford Fiesta RS 1800/Ford Escort RS 2000 wheel set.
All in amazing condition with just the ones not in the packets needing a dust down.
Well the day has finally come an it is MOT test day. I have taken the Fiesta RS 1800 to work with me and booked the car in at the local garage around the corner.
The day started off in the worst possible way with someone parking their van in front of my garage.Over 2 hours later and I could finally get my Fiesta out.
Finally got the front suspension finished to complete taking the Fiesta RS 1800 back to the original ride height.
Cracking job you're doing Mate Great to see someone else going back to normal ride height too, just about to do that with my ST170.
It looks a bit odd now being at standard height after being used to it being an inch from the floor but I do prefer it.
It it so much more comfortable to drive and doesn't feel like the car is going to snap in half when you hit a man hole. Need to get 4 wheel alignment done this weekend.
Since I have had the Fiesta the the steering wheel has never been centre when the wheels are. I have waited until I put the new standard suspension on the car before I had the wheel alignment done.
Got the standard height front springs and struts on my Focus during the week, and it does look a bit odd now it's not an inch off the ground, but it still handles well, and like you say, no nasty bumps when you hit manholes

I think it was because he'd replaced one side at a time, where as I had the whole front up on stands and tightened both sides up while it was hanging. We'll see what the tracking reveals........

Yeah the look definitely changes but worth it for me. Im just over the moon the steering wheel is now in the centre. It is the small things I guess ha
