Default Fiesta RS 1800 Project - UPDATED 27/08/2017

Hi have had the car coming up to 2 weeks or just over.

Drove the car back from Essex (250 miles) and it did not miss a beat.

The bodywork on the car is horrible but it seems a good solid car.

Will be being resprayed and all nasty parts either removed and cleaned or replaced for cleaner or new.

I just hope it does not turn into a full blown restoration (which I think it will haha.)

I have built a little website for the progress of the car and have also started a youtube channel which will document the start to finish of the car.

Thanks for looking,

Danny

It is indeed

The car is solid and pretty mechanically sound so only parts I will be needing are trim pieces etc.

Went to the breakers yesterday and managed to pick pretty much everything up I need.

Had the car up on the ramps the other night.

Everything is spot on apart from a leaky fuel hose, the way some brake pipes have been run and diff seals.

A rare car indeed. I'm sure they were the least common out of the lot of them. Be worth getting it as close to standard as you can imo. The breakers yard looks a gold mine have you got the contact details please ?

Cheers

Your silver fiesta looks really cool, love it on those wheels and it will look even better with the fresh paint

The breakers is a thing of wonder, many an hour could be passed wandering about looking at all the cool bits.

Yeah that's what half the 90s were to me going round these ford breakers yards getting bits at weekends. There's still one similar near me but he doesn't break much anymore due to the cost of buying them in the first place. I remember buying a mk3 xr3i off our local guy that was barely hanging on to 2 weeks mot and tax, paid ÂŁ50 for it and thrashed the ass off it untill the tax and mot ran out and then just dumped it. Those were the days. When I see what mk3 escorts are selling for now it's incredible

Picked up a cracking little gadget for filming the Fiesta RS 1800 with a mobile phone.

Don't know if anyone would be interested

At the weekend I used a 3M Headlight Restoration kit on the rear lights of the Fiesta.

I was made up with the results.

Managed to track down a set of the original 14 inch wheels for the Fiesta RS 1800.

They are in need of a refurb but really happy that I have found a set especially with the centre caps.

A few more parts have arrived too.

I have managed to get hold of a full Fiesta RS 1800 Recaro interior. I traveled down to Solihull to pick it up.

It is in really great shape but does need a repair.

I love recaro seats. Every time I see a set it reminds me of the 1990s where we used to bolt them in anything we could lol
