Whats this bit please?

1989 2.0 DOHC Sierra Sapphire with A/C manual trans.

Whats the objects in photo please, & what do they do?, cant see it in my manual?

has a vac supply from engine which causing a air leak

I think it is a carbon filter - possibly early emissions stuff?

Cheers, but not sure it is, Carbon canister fitted to those vehicles with a cat which mine doesn't have.

could be for the air con air valve,re-circulate valve,think they have an air reservoir tank.
i could be wrong though

It`s a vacum reservoir, don`t remember what it was connected to

Thanks for your replies,

Yes, it seems to be part of the aircon system which is not working at present, I assume it will be ok to seal off the vac hose to stop an air leak?

No problem, just block the hose from inlet
