We Collected Her On The 10 October 1984 Mileages Showing Was 32.800.

During My Youth I Had Many Things Changed From Interior Work To Engine Work But Always Sticking To An Understated OE Look.

She Was Stored Away From 1988 To 1990 She Was Daily Driven Till 1997 Stored Till 1999 Daily Used Till 2000 Then She Was Stored From 2000 Till The Present Day.

The Garage Roof Developed A Leak At Some Point We Don't Notice Till The Plaster Was All Over The Show ( Life's Struggles And Games No Time Always Something ) Anyway The Roof Has Been Sorted And The Mission Is To Get Her In Road Going Condition For Next Year So We Can Attend Some Local Ford Meet And Some Shows

Vacuman 03-09-2016 05:59 PM

Maybe it's just me but I can't get the pics to load. Sounds like a great story, you being the original owners - shame you didn't put a cover on it as well at the time.

Loved the lates '70's/early 80's Ford blue metallics. I had my first MkII resprayed Hawaiian Blue back in 1977 when my dream car was a H/blue Mk4 Ghia S

costina 03-09-2016 07:21 PM

Can't beat a cortina😎

tony66 03-09-2016 07:23 PM

70/80s hues

one of my fathers friends used to buy new fords-70/80s
he had a cortina dark metallic brown with a tan vinyl roof-and before or after it a fiesta which was metallic beige with a brown vinyl roof-the total opposite, cortina looked good, fiesta horrid with the vinyl roof

Thanks For All The Comments And Kind Words

Day 1 : Obviously She Needed A Wash Down But Not Wanting To Move Her Outside Till She's 100% We Hand Picked All The Bigger Pieces Vacuumed All The Little Pieces And Used Loads And Loads Of Show Room Shine Waterless Car Wash The Front End Along With A Few Other Parts Needs Painting So That Was The Best Plan Of Action.

We Just Wanted Her Clean So We Could Work On Her In All Fairness The Paint Seems Hard Compared To Newer Paints.

We Are Looking To Change The Water Hoses For The Radiator Oil Cap And Viscous Fan Can You Still Buy These From A Local Ford Dealer ?

We Are Going From Front To Back Changing And Replacing Anything That Needs Changing.

Comments Welcome

Day 2 : Today We Have Changed The Cam Belt Never Messing With Cam Belt Ourself We Noticed A Technic In Witch You Cut Half The Belt Push The New Belt On Without Upsetting The Timing This Didn't Work For Us As (When The New Belt Was On The Old Belt Got Stuck Behind The Lower Pulley) We Ended Up Doing It The Proper Way And Got To Grips With Timings.

We Have Also Changed The Rotary Arm Coil Pack Spark Plugs We Think The Fuel Pump Has Broken Due To A Non Starting Issue Upon First Start Up New Fuel Has Been Added But It Doesn't Seem To Be Reaching The Carburettor

All For Today We Will Be Removing Fuel Pump Tomorrow Along With Checking The Fuel Lines.

Day 3 : She's Alivvvee She's Alive ! We Had To Remove The Carburettor Unstick All The Butterfly's Remove Fuel Pump And Clean That Out With Petrol And Penetrating Fluid Once We Got Fuel To The Carburettor We Then Noticed We Had No Spark We Played Around Swapping Leads And Cleaning Lead Ends We Then We Took The King Lead And Placed It By The Block And Moved The Points With A Screw Driver Spark ! Then We Took A HT Lead An Old Spark Plug Turned Her Over And You Could Tell She Wanted To Start I Was So Happy I Dropped The Spark Plug Tried To Catch It And Electrocuted Myself ( Really:angry: ) I Don't Know Why I Wanted To Catch It ... Reflex ... Put The Lead Back On The Engine.. And She Fired Into Life... Well Happy !

We Have Removed Both Wings Bottom Valance Grill Headlights We Are Happy To Report That The Dreaded Rust Isn't As Bad As We Was Expecting The Floor Looks Solid Too.. It Has Been Painted With Roof Sealant When She Was Younger So No Doubt That's Helped To Keep The Elements Away The Top Of The Inter Wings Will Need Repairing Thought We Also Need A Replacement Bottom Valance Any Suspicious Areas Will Be Grinned Down Repaired And Retreated

All For Now :bigtop:

I have had it since the end of December start of January.
Not done a thing to it yet just buying parts. I now have all the repair panels, Cosworth engine + gearbox. I need a 2.0 or 2.3 axle.
Build wont start until 2018.
This is the 2nd 2dr Mk5 I have had, last one died of serious rust about 14 years ago.
I think only around 700 came into the UK.
