They were all used for the m4 press pictures, they were the first 500 xr3's down the production line after which they went as dealer demo before being sold to retail customers, this was built October 1980 and was the 124th mk3 escort down the production line

I knew it was a press pic car from the reg, all the cars on the m4 were TTW reg plates, the paperwork is the v888 form, car will be a daily once finished

That is looking proper stunning mate. I've been longing for another mk3 escort for years, trying to decide whether to sell my saph cos to buy one. It's crazy, I had a mk3 xr3 in sunburst when I bought the Cossie 10 years ago and I flogged it on for £150 as it wasn't worth anything. Now there selling for silly money. Wish I had kept

Yeah they've gone bonkers recently, I think so many of us had them back in the day it's the perfect car for a nostalgia trip, early carb cars in good nick are getting scarce plus a lot of the best ones are being stored away as investment with bank interest rates being so poor, this was a very lucky find being one of the m4 press pic cars, not sure I'd move a cossie on to buy one though
