Had another delivery earlier this week.
An absolute vital couple of bits for the big engine build coming over winter 2022.
All we need now is a custom loom for the simtek ECU and we're ready to go.

I think its now time to reveal what turbo we are going for on my new engine build for winter 2021/22.
iv gone for a Holset He221w which looking at all the data etc is going to be perfect for the cvh and as far as i can see we might be the first cvh with one fitted?
Purchased this little beauty last year crazy how cheap they are to buy especially when you consider the quality and durability of them.
360bhp rated turbo with fast spool should work well once we have the simtek in place and set the boost by gear and traction control etc.

Not really a huge deal to update on, The car was in for its MOT the other week which again it passed without a single advisory
Ended up fitting a new sump and this has now solved the constant oil leak we had with the old one, also my alternator decided to give up on the day I brought the car back from the testing station so a new one has been bought and will be chucking it on along with a new belt next weekend.
its quite funny as the car had started to run really lean at idle which just come outta nowhere, then when the alternator died it all made more sense.

Curious as to what the benefits / reasons are for moving them over the gearbox.
I'd love a faster spooling newer style turbo but would like to keep it in the original location on the escort.
I guess moving them gives more room and better cooling.

Longer and equal primary's, Heat away from starter and CPS, heat away from the rad, better flowing..

Had my good mate rsmat pop over yesterday for a catch up, some stoke oatcakes and did a couple of little jobs on the car.
New alternator and belt fitted
Bailey breather kit fitted
New ht lead separator finally fitted
Really happy with how the engine bay is looking now just a few bits to change over to red at some point and we're good.
I'll be out for a drive in the car on Friday to see if the fuelling issue is now sorted, we now have proper voltage at idle so fingers crossed it's all good.
Anyway Matt took a few pics so here they are

went out to the car on 23rd Dec to remove the remains of the side mouldings ready to fit the amazing reproduction ones that myself and rsmat worked in conjunction with coh bains on.
These will be fitted sometime early 2022 but first the car will be getting a full paint correction courtesy of ocd productions
whilst out there i decided to give the car a start and run it up to temp and got a quick vid
The decision was then made to take the car out for a little xmas eve boost with my co pilot
really enjoyed it and so did the little man, got a few little niggles to iron out in the coming months and will be fitting the rest of the superpro polybush kit I have here.

As some of you might know if you're following my 206 gti build thread on here, I left thr fiesta over with rsmat at the weekend.
Today he took the car on a nice little drive onto camp where he's based and took me some amazing pics.
Mat always loves driving my motor I think he secretly wants it 🤣.
Anyway here goes

haven't updated this for ages as the car hasn't moved out of my garage since bringing it back home in june.
anyway iv now pulled the trigger on a maxxecu mini and loom kit from ignition advantages, this will be the final piece of making this car into a niggle free cvh turbo, as the ofab is causing me grief so its time to go.
link to said ecu package

Im going to be taking the car over to my good mate rsmat at OCD Productions and were going to do quite a few jobs before fitting this, the main one being sorting out all the rats nest of wiring and removing anything not needed and tidying up what's left.
I still also have a full polybush kit to fit which will be loads easier now on the ramps and have a airtec tubular manifold that i'll be getting ceramic coated by Raj at Autoflock.
Oh yeah i almost forgot we also have brand new outer and inner window rubbers to be fitted courtesy of the amazing Coh Bains once again

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I think the Maxx is a good choice and value for money. I’ve just started my install in my Escort and my son has one in his fiesta.
whilst the ofab was good in its day it’s a 30+ year old computer now.

How did you find/finding the installs fella? It seems pretty straightforward.
Yeah I think 30+years has taken its toll especially with the amount of god knows what wiring knocking about. A good thorough sort out and new loom/ecu should really be the final piece of the puzzle.

It's amazing value for money, especially when you consider I was quoted anywhere between £700-850 just to make a loom.

My son has has experience of Link and Haltech and said by far the Maxx software is the easiest to work with. It was apparently created by a group of engineers from other management companies that knew they could do better than what was on offer elsewhere.
The install on my Escort has just started and I’m still waiting on some parts to arrive before I start wiring.

The install on the fiesta started first time, drove to get mapped and had one hour on the dyno.

Hi everyone i hope all of you have had a great festive season and are gearing up for 2023.
following on from the posts above, we plan on getting the car over to rsmat sometime in January and then it will be a case of all hands on deck to rattle the jobs off asap.
i did forget to add that we will be fitting a set of forged rods to the bottom end and raising the boost somewhere around 20-24psi, i also still have the .48 exhaust housing i could refit onto the t3 if we really wanted push things higher but for now im sticking with the stage 2 t3 setup.
we are also going to fit a modified series one rs turbo inlet manifold whilst we are at it as these seem to flow far better than the standard efi fiesta turbo one.
all in all it should massively transform the car going over to a modern ecu with far better scope across the board.
a few random pics
various bits loaded into the boot ready for the off.
airtec t3 exhaust manifold
unboxing the maxxecu and loom

Happy new year to you all and its been over a year since i updated this.
there's a very good reason for that and that's because absolutely nothing was done with the carm last year, i didn't even get a fresh m.o.t on it
Anyway the bug has finally returned and my personal/working life is much more balanced again now so as of early Feb the plan is as follows.
whilst the car is at my place strip down the engine and drain the oil etc, fit the new forged rods and build back up again with all new gaskets/oil etc etc.
Fit the airtec t3 manifold and at this stage get the car booked in with the auto electrician courtesy of OCD to sort out the horrid wiring loom and years of alarms/bodges etc removed.
From this we can then fit the brand new engine loom and maxx ecu and fire her up on the base map provided, get the car back this end and its mapping time at GT Motorsport
Ideally i want all this squared away before Mid April then i can start using the car a hell of a lot more
