St170 mk1 fiesta power figures are in 11/05/13
strip down time
all out, most going down the tip, and start cleaning 28 year old grease, dirt and mud, and its left quite a clean structure behind!
gave it a scrub down and jet wash before clearing the bits and tools away
got tons of parts on order and ill keep you all posted as they arrive!

bit more strip down
just waiting for more parts to arrive then hit the car at 100mph!
had a few small problems with my top mounts but comp brake are ment to be sending me the right ones!
also dummy fitted my roll cage
its a roll centre full cage that goes behind the dash board as i hate the ones that sit infront of the dashes, i had it made with twin diagonals and door bars
will have it powder coated in the colour the interior is being painted

parts have been arriving and getting ready to go full steam ahead into the mock build of the car before paint!
here we go
omex 600 ecu this should work really well with the spec of the engine and thos throttle bodies
once the engine is in position going to get my mate spot round who builds race and rally car looms to measure up and build my loom for me! plus supply me with the overbraid to do the rest of the car loom
add it together with a set of these, set of custom cat cams to remove the shit vvti pulley set up, plus got a set of vernier pulleys so can get the timing spot on!
plus a set of these to hold the bottom end together till im ready to throw a set of steel rods and forged pistons in there
on and another box of tricks turned up
got the full kit does, oil temp oil pressure water temp revs gear selected
plus also added lap timer and speed camera warning

well its all about the suspension
been busy collecting parts and finally got some time to work on the car
with this car i want it to handle as well as it looks and goes, so many people spend fortunes n making it go fast and dont spend anything on making it handle correctly!
heres some pics of the components ive been collecting!
these were a right pain in the arse to get as compbrake were so unreliable but finally got them right after about 2 months! custom top mounts for my gaz gold coilovers them took them to steve stripe of XWORKSS and got him to make the platforms the top mounts bolt too!
bit of surface rust as been sitting in the garage for a few weeks!
attached to one of the coilovers
mix it up with a bit of kustomkarls suspension set up from the states
here with the new ball joint fitted
today we started to prep the shell, starting with the top mounts, me best bud dan made up a jig to make sure the top mounts were perfectly fitted and at the right angle
then cutting could commence
with the jig on this is what was left
then jig off and clean up ready for the new top mounts to be fitted
Hey Presto
cleaned all the welds up and eched primed them for some anti corrosion, once car goes to the bodyshop they will be seam sealed and filled as my engine bay is going smooth and euro looking!!
now i can tick one of about 150000 things off the list of things to do!!!

Got the car in the workshop up on the rollover spit, had the shell on its side and been going throught the pain staeking task of cleaning the underseal off of it, also been cleaning all the seams underneith and been seamwelding the shell as per group2 manual shows and more, as we have been welding and inch and leaving an inch then been dressing the welds back etch priming then red oxiding the bare metal, only doing this to protect and then will leave it to the bodyshop to fully seam seal the car before paint can commence!
Also cut the passenger side inner wing for the fiesta centre 5 speed fitting kit, did buy a new kit but sold it once i recieved the kustom karl set up but too drawings of the metal plate used to strengthen the inner wing to a local fabricators and they made me one, once welded in cleaned up and dummy fitted a spare empty ib5 casing on the xr2 cradle and new vibratechnic mounts, i plan to in the next week get the linkage all fitted in for the 5 speed box(will use a old one so not to damage the new b&m)
Wilst the gearbox was in place decided to put the block up in the bay so can do the engine mount, as im using the st170 engine the cvh mount looks like it wont line up with any holes so will be making a fully custom set up of my own and will be selling the fiesta centre one! wilst i was there i fitted the sump and cyl head which gave me a bit of a buzz and some more much needed enthusiasm!
Also got a massive parcel turn up the other day but didnt weigh much! OH that must be my new carbon bonnet and full interior panel set! very pleased with the outcome will be ordering a full rivnut set so can dummy bolt the inner panel set before it goes to paint then remove! and a set of bonnet pins for the bonnet, trying to help drum up peeps to go in the group buy for the boot lids as i want one and a carbon rear spoiler which would look the tits!
After much consideration in regards to the mk2 escort pedal box conversion as seen on zetecinside.com and after some comments that arose i sold my brand new pedal box on turbosport to a guy who was going to fit it in the car it was designed for and went back to the drawing board, thought fook it want to push the boundaries some more so bought a floor mount hydraulic clutch set up to go with the track car theme some more and do away with the bulkhead mount set up all together! may have to mount the seat slightly further back and poss extend the steering coloumb but will seeonce arrived and fitted! the kit comes complete with two brake master cyl and clutch cyl, 3 resovoirs, 3 braided lines for resovoirs, dash mounted bias adjuster and all the fittings!
As for rear beam i got a few things in the pipe line but havnt fully made my mind up yet!
Just taken delivery of my new fuel system, its a well thought out set up and has been proved to be more than man for the job in hand for road and track use! some of you may recognise it
