Default Update!

So it's been a while and she still isn't painted! But it's going for exhaust on Monday at Tony Law's and then after that it is going for paint so not long to wait.

Got the engine and gearbox test fitted and made the mounts

Handbrake lever and gear shift assembly sorted

Using the radiator straight off of a Mondeo

Lifeline electrical fire system

Sat on 15" revolutions with gravel tyres, also quick release SportKA bumpers

So all in all its been a long old project but it's starting to come together now and glad that we spent so long getting the shell right. Long way to go yet but hopefully the time consuming stuff is mostly done now and it can go together quickly after paint !

Cheers

Some nice fab work there pal, takes a lot longer than you think to build a rally car.
I've just been out in mine, been building it for years, just starting to get some boost in it.
Its a quick car now.

Keep on it, the rewards come at the start of SS1. 😉

Took almost 3 years to the day to get my latest rally car from a shell to an MOTd car, just had it mapped so i can get a few road miles on it. MSA scrutinieer booked to come and logbook it.
Get a few more miles on it and map it more aggressively and then get some testing done.
Good work there Tommi.

Looking good Tommi, should be a great little car when it's done.

Can see the light at the end of the tunnel with mine now too. Was only supposed to be a quick freshen up, but spent four years fixing other people's mistakes

Not often you see a lot of TIG welded directly onto cars - very nice indeed. I can see lots of time has gone into this Ka.

What bushings have you used for the engine/gearbox mounts?

Wow it's been a while and still very steady progress but getting there. Sorry for lack of updates I have been pretty busy with the junior championship and starting a new college.

Engine and gearbox all built up. Car being painted now (interior painted)

Going together nice now. A start has been made on the wiring and get to bolt the shiny bits on at last!

Modified the clocks. Will just have a STACK rev counter in the centre with a few aux lights

Template for central switch panel

So car nearly ready now. Entry in for the Malcolm Wilson rally in March but still need to pass my driving test, only turned 17 a week ago. Hopefully have it on the rolling road next week, had it running this week

All wired up and dash made up and flocked

Polycarbonate Windows fitted

Very lucky to have the support of Proflex UK who have sorted us out with the shocks. Can't wait to test them out!
