puma 2000cc
hi guys im just building a fiesta with a puma lump over the next few weeks and have decided that the puma donor car will then be built up as a track car/rally car. I was initially thinking about going for a rwd conversion but am thinking of going for a 2 litre rs2000 escort lump and staying with fwd has any1 come across this conversion and can help shed some light on whats to be done and what parts are needed cheers

Becareful with a rwd conversion for rallying dimensions aren't straoght forward since K37 rule changes.
|
if I can find info on 2litre I4 lump fitting ill stick with fwd
|
If I remember right there is someone that has taken a puma motor out to 2ltr
Surely any power gains will be lost through power to weight As the puma lump is a feather weight compared to the rs2000 lump ? |
id go zetec. st170 would be a good swap.
|
Forget that old heavy Eisenschwein called RS2000 16V.
For racing in a 2000 ccm class I'd go for a Duratec-HE. |
can any1 shed some light on the fitting of these into a puma etc then
|
Focus rs mk1 engine.
|
2.0 Duratec is probably the better choice.
I'm a big fan of the old RS2000 engine but the Duratec is lighter and there are loads of bits available. It makes good sense these days. I think there's been a couple put into Fiestas so there must be some info out there. |
