Thanks for all the good comments makes all the effort even more worthwhile when others appreciate it too!

I'm really pleased with how it's come together and can't wait to do the final flatting and polishing next weekend and a proper clean it deserves

Really got the bug back now especially after seeing it with the wheels on its made it my own and I think they look great, first thing that I need to order is a new pair of fans as in this heat we're having only having one just won't cut it

Here's a quick few pics i grabbed earlier too

Cheers mate glad I got the offset machined down as they'd have been too wide on the front otherwise

Cheers James if it's worth doing it may aswell be done right

Found a few more pics on my phone from other bits that got done last week, first off I fitted the group a coil and uprated loom which I think has got rid of a slight miss at top end on hard boost which is good I've just remembered after seeing the pic I need to trim back the overbraid

Also a couple of years later after fitting the fan rewire loom and just having the override switch floating in the glovebox it's finally been fitted properly hidden away

Car is looking great, that gloss black paint with them wheels really suits it.

Let us know about the rubber strips for the bumpers, as I may need to purchase some soon.

The car is really looking awesome! There's just one thing I would change and that is the colour of the fog light surrounds, to me it looks weird in the same colour as the bumper.

The bumper strips will fit, I have purchased them from East Kent Trim Supplies on a few occasions for various 3drs I have owned over the years.

Thanks. Lee.

All looks spot on mate a lovely example, hopefully mine will be going off for paint soon as it's sat for over 6 years now
like you said I'm hoping to get the bug back also as I'm getting a bit long in the tooth now, thanks for the heads up on the bumper trim that's another one off my list of parts needed & time spent looking .

If you don't mind me asking how much was the carbon heat shield, PM me it if you don't want to put it on here.

Credit to you and all involved, always great seeing them being brought back to life

Thanks mate but it will have to wait at that price, I'm not saying it isn't worth it as I know how much work has to go into making a part like that and will look sweet on yours being black, I'm going to order the bumper strips though.

That's fair enough got to get the essentials bought first, the bumper strips are a worth while buy much easier than messing about with the old ones

That's a freaky coincidence lol

So glad the car has come together well mate and looks great I must admit when sold I gritted my teeth as when i see the car at a show a couple of weeks beforehand the rear arches were shagged so it was obviously bodged to sell it but its right now terrific job mate well done

They are brilliant those fans, very quiet yet extremely powerful. I had them fitted to the escos rad I was using in the Puma for the FRS engine. I thought they would be no match for the previous Kenlowe items I used before and these are much better

Paint job looks very very good too.

Nail on the head jay bodged was an understatement and would of been so much easier to sort had they been left alone but it's done now, just need to have a word with myself as I'm starting to get very fussy and all I ever wanted was a nice cossie to drive more than I polished

Ah that's great to hear about the fans I was wondering if they would cool down the car more than the standards be nice to not feel them rumbling through the car aswell lol

Thank you both of you though much appreciated

I didn't get the fans fitted at the weekend as the fused relays and new plugs never came until late Saturday so will get it sorted this weekend, did get a bit more stripped down and ready for the quarters to be re painted the guy who did it is convinced he can do it better and I'm not going to argue lol

Not updated this in ages so whilst I’m sat on the sofa with nothing worth watching on the tele I thought I’d update this as it’s nice to look back

so since the fans were the last update after they were fitted I went to ford fair and did t really use it much. Fast forward to about April 2018 and I took the car to jez at carrera bodyworks for a bit of paintwork and a few subtle changes which included a rouse splitter, the foglight ducts which were made by twins and I also had all the badges done satin black as well as some general paintwork to tidy a few bits up and finally getting the carbon heat shield fitted here’s some pics of that

So after getting it back from jez I went to a few meets and shows and cleaned it and used it as much as I could. I then decided I wanted a shorter plate as there was a lot of wasted space on the standard so I got Dave to make me up a surround with a shorter recess. At the same sort of time I got some comp centre caps and had them modified as my wheels aren’t comps and they look perfect imo here’s some pics of that

Then the car went away over winter, out of sight out of mind although I did get some carbon strut tops off eBay but sure he’s a member on here can’t remember his name sorry! Then decided I thought id
try a group a k&n so only recently fitted that. Also ordered some maintenance bits fuel filter, plugs and oil and filter, which was a pain to change with my fat hands had to take the strutbrace and breather pot off to get the filter off

then decided to tackle a few bits inside the car the headlining has needed sorting for a while so recently ripe my other half into doing that and the c pillars, bought the kit from as-trim decided to go black as I think it looks better. Then painted a few bits but have bought some proper black grab handles and managed to get a nos black sunroof winder. Whilst that was all out re done the parcel shelf in black acoustic carpet

also changed the bonnet stay grommet as that fell apart as well as getting a spring for the bonnet catch as that must have broke and made opening the bonnet a 2 man job which on a car like this is far from ideal lol

also got my hands on some omp seat subframes for the future is it me or are they mega awkward to fit? Also think the carpet mad eneed trimming around the seat mounts too?

Finally i I decided to change the colour of the wheels to mix it up a bit as I still love the wheels and thought I’d im powder coating and painting wheels all day may as well do my own the colour doesn’t show the colour all that well though. But for now that’s it nothing too major but slowly chipping away at jobs and enjoying it

Good to see this one back on the go, looks like a top job on the headliner and parcel shelf I ended up paying to get mine done as to scared of Fu###ng it up.

When looking back through your picks I noticed you have the rubber seal that goes on the bottom of the windscreen shuttle panel where it meets the bonnet, is it possible when you get the time to measure how deep the U Chanel is and the width of the rubber tongue, as I think I’ve found an alternative.

Cheers in advance
