Default Fiesta Rs turbo

Well the calling of an Rs turbo again finally beat me down so I bought a white frst. Decided to do something different this time as I had a nice series two before. Bought this example from a guy in Northampton which had a solid body and had been resprayed in the last two years or so. Needs a bit of tidying up but all manageable. Car is totally standard throughout apart from gaz coilovers and stainless steel exhaust. Cars covered about 89k documented.

Plans are to get a zvh in it for around 250bhp. Already started collecting parts for it and een down the scrap years this week and picked up a couple of bits that needed attention (my high standards).

I've purchased this weekend a zetec s mk5 rear beam for a rear disc conversion for better braking and some escort gti style alloys with a rare offset of 7j et35 16" alloys which I think will look great on the car in gunmetal/anthracite. Today I've been rubbing them down ready for primer and got a base cost on them ready for colour later this week.

Next on the list (apart from finding an engine) is to source some front brakes. A mate of mine Oli has so me cosworth front discs and calipers I might look into but think they are only single piston so not sure how good they will be.

I'll upload some photos in the next couple of days when I get to a laptop rather than my phone.

The 4x4 Cosworth brakes will work very well.

And this thread is useless without pictures

decided to start to strip the underseal off as I want the car nice and clean underneath like it is on top. So after hours of removing the underseal I finally managed to get a base coat of primer on the underside to keep it from rusting while in the garage before painting. Was really pleased having looked under the car as the only area that looks to have had welding is the passenger wing where I know this was replaced dues to the petrol cap rusting. only panel to have ever had any work on the car

got home a bit early from work today (only and hour or so) so decided to get straight out in the garage before the Mrs came home and rub down one of the wheels so I could get some colour on them. After an hour of prepping I finally got a couple of coats of colour on them (metallic flint grey) and finished them with a light coat of lacquer. Going to add one more coat of lacquer tomorrow but pleased with the result I got. Painted behind the face as well and lacquered.

Nice old Northern Ireland plate on it. Would be worth a few quid on its own.

Also a few pics of my mk5 zetec s rear beam ready for disc conversion. Needs to be stripped and cleaned up before it goes on but it has new bam earrings, pilybushed with new discs. Got a good deal I think

Been busy lately collecting parts for the engine conversion over the winter months. Managed to buy so far a refurbished 2l Zetec silver top engine with less than 1500 miles use , tubular manifold, alloy rad, large front intercooler, stand alone fuel management ecu and loom, t34 hybrid turbo with .63 housing, and last night hopefully secured a gearbox suitable for the power.

Also been working a bit on the car itself with the underside refurbishment when I can and also picked up some new front brakes from ollie mk5 Rs. Need to get these fitted soon as not that confident in the standard set up

Get some pics up tomorrow
