Question 1 piston lower than others ??

i,ve taken head of my rs turbo to find no3 piston is about 1/2 mill lower than no2 at tdc but when at bottom no3 is 1/2 mill higher if con rod was bend it would be 1/2 mill further in any ideas what could but wrong ??? head gasket did go reason for head taken off and low comp on no3 after rebuild

opps 1 to 2 mill not 1/2 mill

maybe spun #3 big end bearing to the point that its disintegrated so the crank isn't pushing the rod all the way up or pulling it all the way down if that makes sense. i would check that first

i,ve been out took sump off no3 has no up down play but little back to front others have a little all round play ordered another rod in case its bent think it will be should be here day after tomos going to take piston out tomos to check bearings and crank is it best to change all bears now anyway while sump is off ??

Id say bent rod too, but seeing as youve now got the chance, change everything in all the rods

took piston out rod is bent . piston got delivered this morning man that was fast problom now is its got different code old one is jrs8cb/Fwith 194 on other side.. one thats come has krs8cb/F with 224 on other side i,m thinking dont fit ???

yep thats what i,m thinking unless i measured it wrong mixing up 2 and 3 Ordered knew conrod shell bearings and piston rings . found a small peace metal in shell oil feed hole on top shell . it has 25 mill line in it but not deep no marks on bottom one so going to change them all . i dont know how to put pic in here i would put pic of shells and rod

( code was batch no ) changed all piston rings and shell bearings just as well 2 more pistons knacked between the the rings as well now it up and running it been 2 year since it was ran i have air getting sucked in the under the throttle body round the screw with the spring round it carnt remember it doing that before

Rods can bend to different extents, Ive had one engine bend a couple rods and one was down only slightly and another down about 8mm.

(clio engine with more than double standard torque but still on standard rods, lol)
