Where abouts in the north east are you. Do these fiestas have an intercooler.

Glenn, I don't think these ones did... On the older engines the inter cooler was on top at the back, then when the focus came out they moved it to the front (but still on the top).

Wonder how hard it would be to plumb in a focus inter cooler?

You can use the intercooler from the mk1 Focus which was fitted with the same engine.

Apart from a good panel filter from K&N or Pipercross, custom exhaust system and a remap there isn't a lot which you can do with this engine unfortunately.

I had a 2001 plate 1.8 diesel mk5 Fiesta as my first car and it was brilliant. I personally only fitted rear axle spacers and a K&N panel filter to mine.

This is the same engine family as the focus tddi, this doesnt have the intercooler and the turbocharger compressor is smaller than that of the focus. 75bhp is what yours would produce, superchips have a bluefin for it. When I was planning on tuning my fiesta van I intended to get it running the same sort of power as the remapped tddi focus. According to superchips a remapped focus tddi will run 120bhp, I emailed a few places in the hope of having a custom map made up.

I got as far as one guy who wanted to check my ecu for compatibility for remapping as he was doubtful but I explained that superchips had a blue fin he was then confident he could work something. I also bought a focus tddi turbocharger but that was as far as I got, my plan was to fit a front mount intercooler, focus tddi inlet manifold blank the egr, fit the focus turbo and go for a larger bore exhaust system.

The mk5 fiesta didnt have the tddi for that long before the mk6 came in and from looking about next to nobody had gone to enough troubles to tune one.

So am better of just fitting a puma engine or a 2.0 zetec engine when consider the cost per bhp .. I know I could just sell it and get something with more power but I have grown attached to it for some stupid reason ha ha
