Glenn, has the outer been welded on yet? If not, it might be worth asking your bodyshop guy to temove the jacking point strengthening bracket, depending on if you use the original jack to jack it up. Water collects behind it and can end up rotting it from the inside out, which is a pain to get to, so it needs drilling out. Your choice. I would do it as I'm re doing mine as I did an apauling job.

I lost my series 2 to rust last year was gutted but when you start paying someone else to do fabrication work its fkn expensive. went in for 2 inners sills Ł150 then as they started digging floor was shot rear chassis legs eneded up want nearly 1k to sort it it creeps up so fast glad I didn't have a bump with the kids in it,just bought a mk3 xr3i mk3 58k y reg Ł1500 spent an hour going over it before leaving a deposit the guy was like WTF is this boy on,lol

This is why I want the car to be right. In a few years I might be having kids and I want the car to be as strong as it can be.I had the nsr chassis leg welded a few years ago.The floor pans are ok too.

Looking good Glenn Hope you have it back very soon ! But it's better that all the work is done properly and taking a bit longer to finish, instead of being fast and doing a crappy job so

It's gonna be all good Glenn

It took the last bodyshop shop 2 weeks to replace part of the rear arches and do a full respray. That was done in the august.By novermber in the same year there was signs of rust coming through on the rear arches.

It can take as long as it wants wants just as long as it will last.

The lad said he has filled the joining metal with a bond so that water cant get in to the joins.
