i dont advocate road racing but when this guy was revving up in front of my i quickly turned go pro on. i was just out getting some miles on the car before trackday. my 180bhp vs his 182 felt like no comparison. i had to bail out of my launch and short shifted twice at 5k so kinda made me feel happy that 180bhp can be fast . he also looked a dangerous liability so left him head off.

you're a bad lad Steve! car sounds well though!
I struggle to keep up with that shape clio on the straights on track, so the fact you're short shifting really does show how much quicker yours is on the ITB's

That guy was crazy all over the place. Haha. Looked like you could have easily had him before you let him pull away. Even stripped out id say yours is still a fair bit heavier than that plastic frog?

Nice bit of driving there. You loosened up nicely about 5.30 in. I bet your were smiling when you passed the Porsche. Imagine what you could do with track geo and sticky tyres!
Quality rear view mirror moment

This was my final run but had a nice battle with a clio 182 on itbs running a claimed 205bhp by owner.

thanks for watching. I set it a bit safe so had more understeer than I'd like but the thought of losing back end at turn 1 scared the life out of me so had to go safe.

Donington booked for July 5th. Meeting with Rowe and his focus. Other main news is i just recently found out iv not been running vvt for last few months. The ecu firmware update I had to do to cure misfire had new programme for vvt that I was unaware of. As The ecu could no longer read the vvt format it switched to a fixed cam setting. It was basically stuck on Max advance. It's been a right faff getting it resolved but now I have full vvt working I done a few hours tuning the best setting I could on my butt dyno and now the car is drastically faster than ever. I'm back on the dyno Monday so hopefully have some far better results than last time.

dyno went ok. the cars improved a lot but dyno didnt show the figures i thought it would.
it made 181bhp but ecu was showing intake temps of 49c. it was so hot today. dyno was giving power based on 34c so i guess im corrected wrong when i was seeing 49.not end of world.

the graph pic is totally wrong for rpm even though i asked twice for it to be set accurately. limiter is set to 7500 and it holds power right up to it now which it didnt last time. it was dropping off at 7000. now its basically holding 180bhp for 900rpm straight. on the road that feels so much better than before.

That is a nice graph. All very well chasing figures but I would far rather have 180bhp for 1800 revs than 200 for 500 revs

indeed. but i misread the graph its more like 800 to 900 rpm it flatlines for.
still better than it was.

but still had a great time at donington last week. few minor issues like throttle jammed wide open down craners on my first lap. engine was pinned on limiter. repeated stamps got it free but still not sussed out how it happened. also gear linkages popped off twice on gearbox side. other than that i loved it

Yes lads, it's pain in the @rse what they're doing, and it's gradually happening across all of the forums

I'm lucky, cause being old skool, I never trusted them with my pictures anyway, so I've always posted direct to forums.

Your threads have still got some really useful written tech info in them though guys so don't give up, and just start dragging and dropping direct like I do
