teamSPB 2009 BMW 1 Series build - Ascendant, B2, Mosconi, Gladen
Got a 2009 BMW 118d to do an install in currently belonging to my good friend Sunny...his requirements were OEM integration to the stock BMW headunit, upgrade the component system in the car, add a pair of subs to enhance the low end response. Everything must look stock in the cabin, with a good looking boot build to show when at shows etc
The spec will be;
Mosconi 6to8 processor with OEM integration
Gladen Audio BMW 200 component kit - 3 way consisting of tweeters, midrange and under seat subs
Mosconi ONE 120.4 amplifier powering the components
2 x Ascendant Audio Chaos 10s in custom made ported box
B2 Audio Mono mkII 2200wrms amp
Let the build commence!
There were no tweeters present in the OEM sound system, so we had to order in BMW HK tweeter panels for the stock look
Gladen BMW 200 midrange speaker
Silk dome tweeter
Crossover
Heat shrinked connectors then insulation tapped over the wiring
Same with the other side...pic of the tweeter fitted

Hi mate,
How much do those components cost? I'm looking to change the set up in my e60 as it currently sounds poor, I've seen a few people go for the JL range, how would you rate these compared to them?
Cheers

Under seat subs
OEM Sub vs Gladen 8
Shallow subs!
OEM enclosure
I was going to sound deaden these sub they really are solid and have no resonance or flex...especially considering they are bolted directly onto the floor!
Sub in
Passenger side had plent of change attached to it lol
Gladen BMW wiring harness
This allows you to add an external amplifer without the need to modify cabling or cut anything!

Bass controller being ran into a cubby hole
Mosconi ONE 120.4
Unfortunately there isnt much space for the amps to sit unlike the E90s, so we had to put the amps on the top...which is no problem as the pretty panels will cover everything
Can just about make out the wiring loom
Levelling up the boot build

The Mosconi 120.4 has high level inputs so will work off speaker level inputs...
In this setup, we are running the speaker cables directly into the Mosconi 6to8 processor which converts everything into low level (RCAs) and provides a remote output. I could have easily just ran the speaker cables directly into the 120.4 amp and it would have powered up and down with the stereo.
The thing I have noticed with all BMWs is that when you open the door, lights go on, etc etc, it actually sends a small signal into the speaker wires which turns the amps on, then off again a short while later...no biggy at all but it is something I have noticed with BMWs

i got a lot of respect for 1 series` top work matey, always like your builds!
i was given a M123d to remap and fit coilovers/wheels for a company into their noise in sunderland when it was a few days old, and what a car!
white with carbon spoilers
went like a scolded cat after it was mapped but they chose a set of gay wheels as it was their demo car and wanted to attract attention/customers (later changed for propper looking ones)
