Default S1 Rs Turbo Project

Ive been meaning to put my project up on here for a little while now but just have not had the time to sit down and write about it,Hopefully ppl can give me advice and sale me there parts, but here goes.

after owning a black s2 a few years ago i decided on buying another escort seen this one up for sale from a guy on here. traveled along way to collect it,
it had a few problems to start with really delocked doors, engine was cutting out and needed tlc.If im honest it looked sorry for itself but thats what i was looking for a car, i could make my own. The car had good grounds for me to start on with bits polished and the zetec conversion almost finished. because that was the way i wanted to go, not big power but a nice power.

I wanted to do something like this for alittle while now, i wanted to have a rs turbo that was in good condition and looked great that i could say i did that. i know that i would never get it in like concourse condition with my budget but i wanted a good one.

here is a few pics of it when i picked it up back in Feb 2011 before a clean!

Then it looked alot better with abit a water and shampoo

ye that feeling was not bad seen worse, the next bit was to find out about a jig for the car, sourced one of them, and it was worth every penny,

here is the car on the jig

once on that was time to find all the rust so i thought it would be good to do it correctly and get the shell fully sandblasted and there was a local company that would be doing this. but came to a problem i needed the car on wheels really but before a new it B&Q helped me out with them

then it was booked car in for blast and off it went

thanks paul, so while shell was off getting blasted i was back at garage stripping the bonnet and doors of paint, what stuff do you lot thing the best for stripping paint???

the next day i got a call off the blasters and they said cant blast the shell yet due to undersealer on car, so i went up there and to keep the cost down for labour, i took day off work and spent the day burning and scrapping underseal off the shell, (oh that was fun, 8 hours)
