A little update
This will be a little winter project of mine..along with the other stuff im hopefully gonna do to the car
Guess there is quite a few different opinions about this mod...but i really love these vents..and think they will suit the Focus"s hood.I"m not ruining the original hood,so that will be untouched

cheeers for looking

Hey people
Here again....is one of my little winter projects,my photobucket was down for one month..so had to wait with the picture updatesanyways
I know there is quite some mixed opinions on this mod...but i definetly like it,and think it makes the car stand out abit..and with that said..all since i was a kid i was in love with the bonnet vents on the sierra cosworth and the escort rs turbo..loved the way it looked.
and now..with the Focus rs ..i just gotta have a vented bonnet..also have plans makin a bonnet with the proper WRC 99" vents.
But enough talking.here is the bonnet im doing now
Abit of explaining for the first picture...as you can see ..i tried to show through some cheap PAINT PROGRAM what my thought was with the placement of the bonnet vents...i really wanted the lines of the top of the hood(where the arrow is)transfered down where you can see i have drawn another line thats similar to the top line....that would be the natural curve ...and the bonnet vents do kindoff "tip down againts the middle...of the bonnet...so...oh well..bad explanation..but i guess when you see the pic and the markings...you see what i meant to do..and i think that looks good

cheers

Well...heellooo
My new wheels have arrived..and im stoked to say the least
Noooo .they are not bin lids...they are Crown jewels
Just some fun facts....im very happy i did go the "silver" route, cause they look fantastic in silver..and i have ordered a set of proper oz stickers to go on there.
the offset is Et35.
More pictures to follow when stickers arrive..and i get the rubbers on and so on
Enjoy

cheeers matehopefully they will suit the car...actually i think they do suit the sierra and escort better, than the focus...as i have seen a couple of focus"s with these wheels..but on the other hand...those ive seen..have been white...never seen a focus rs with these wheels in silver...so hopefully that would make it look different

hey people
Then my car is out from its hiatus, and boooy was it fun to drive it from the storage building to where i work
I have fitted the new rims, and i really think they suit the car after some getting used to..but actually not going to fit the blue center caps i think..as i think it looks abit more RAW without them.but want to paint the wheel bearing cap gold..and the nut and threaded area of the driveshaft gold.as the WRC cars had gold anodised hubs.,,so i wanna make it look abit like that.

Further i started to do some buftyin in the rear wheel arches this weekend, and i was soo happy to find almost no signs of rust.there was some small spots where there was some brown color and small bubbles...so i decided to just get it done and remove the rust, and i got to put some proooper 2k primer/barrier on there, and it is going to be perfect.not done yet,as the primer/barrier is gonna sit and do its work.

So here is the pictures...as you will see there is some different kind..as i just wanted to show everything that ive done to the car this weekend.

Some thing i want to adress..is that ..the rear arches...they tend to rust on these cars..and i really got to see whyyy they tend to rust in the arches..there is a big gap between the inner and outer arch..and the dirt and stuff gets in between..and slowly it will start to rot..luckily mine was mint there.

well...enjoy the pics people

hey people
Its about time for a new update
first of all ...ill start to tell about my little mishap...
i got me new wheels on..with ET 35 offset...and i "forgot" to take my spacers in the rear..off....so...had a wheel arch rubbing insident...so i had to repeair my rear arches.
i did this in a proper way ..of course..i used a hardcore 2K barrier primer first..and then a epoxy 1 k primer..before 3 layers of paint..and to layers of clear coat...and finished it of having clear wax oil on the arches...
do not have more than one pic of this..as it hurts my feelings

got my new bumper on also.

all this lead me to want to take off the front bumper and give the car a "behind the scene" shine

i found small dots of rust in the front crash bar...and obviously its the clips for the front lower grill that makes these marks..which leads to rust

i threated this..not for the cosmetic look..but treated the rust..and prevented this rubbing to happen again...after painting the areas..i put some 3M foil where the clips rest against the crash bar.

i also treated the inside and front bumper fixings front wings with clear waxoil from Mercedes.heavy duty stuff.

ill let the pics do the rest of the talkingfrom start to finish

Enjoy

the rear arches beeing repaired

How it looked when i took the front bumper off.as you can see the rusty spots on the crash bar....almost all focus" rs"s ive seen..have ten times more rust here..so i wanted to prevent it from getting as bad as ive seen on some cars.

Cleaning started.also sanded down the rust on the crashbar..and put the 2k barrier,1k primer and paint and clearcoat on the crashbar....and finally the 3M foil on top to prevent further rubbing.you can also see how uber clean the front wings are..so im pretty happy about that

The front wings treated with mercedes benz heavy duty waxoil to keep them rust free
also cleaned up the powersteering pipe across the chargecooler rad.happy to see that it was rust free.

And finally ,,back on the road after this buftying session

Cheeers for loooking

Last updatemy bonnet is ready, and put on the car.
The color is sadly not 100 percent the same as the rest of the car...so i have to get it painted again.but for now its allright.but this bonnet project was more about the fun and experience doing something ive never done before..as in bodywork.so im pretty happy with the outcome

And today..ive added something that i guess is a truly LOVE/HATE addition to the car.
I personally love itand together with my next upgrade..it will be even better
All comments welcome

And finnaly---i was at my local ford dealership..ordering some parts for the car.
And even though its just a cheap little "thing"..
They gave me this..because they thought of me as a good Ford ambassador..which i think is a nice thing to hear.
So obviously it fitted in the car ,veeery well
Cheers

like it, but without the mudflaps, when you made the bonnet did you bond the vents to the bonnet. what did you use. I have to put vents in my track car bonnet. bonding them may work.

yes...they are bonded.if you take a look further up the page..you can see how i did it.
it is a bodywork sealer/glue .sticks forever.and much better than welding .

hey mate
Thank you very much..and though it is my car..i actually agree with you.regarding the mudflaps..and that is kindoff the point..to make the car stand out..RED will always attract attention..and i think it separates my focus Rs from other Focus"s around. and beeing a straight up minter..its all good i think

but anyways...thank you very much

Vents, yes.
Wheels, big yes.
Cleanliness, wow.
Mudflaps.. I dunno. They might be a little big looking from the back?

If you were to offer me the keys would I say no?

No.

Top car. Well impressed!
