Cheers for the great comments folks.
Progress is ongoing and i am in the middle of the wiring (from hell) and the fuel tank install etc.
not much progress pics but here is how the fuel set up is getting on, waiting on another pump to arive and more fittings etc.
Sun was out so i took her out of the garage for some pics with my other cars (and got them all cleaned haha)

Thanks folks.
Update 17/06/12.
Last 2 weeks have been a nightmare with the wiring from hell, but its now done and the management is working so mega chuffed.
Engine and wiring is now pretty much done and just a few tweaks to make before we try and fire it up and start to map it.
Next job is plumb in the Oil Catch can set up then fit my AP brakes and the fitment of the GAZ coilovers along with fitting my new wheels (10x16 rear, 8x16 front with a ET0 (Zero offset) so they will fill the arches nicely.
There is a few hoses etc to change out due to wrong colour but that is minor details.
Looking to go for a first start next week all going well.

Im a big fan of your work mate. Your doing a great job. Will be an absolute monater when its finished!
I work at a BMW dealer as a mechanic for just over 10 years, so I have a soft spot for them. A mate of mine here in Australia also has a 2002 as his track toy. Love it!

FANTASTIC motor!!!
one question though and maybe i have read this wrong....
If you bought 2 x rotten BMW 2002 and one of them was a 2002 turbo why didnt you restore the 2002 turbo rather than putting all the turbo parts on the non turbo model? surely then when fully restored you would have a genuine 2002 turbo rather then a turbo rep?
Either way you have a fantastic car there but I cant understand why you didnt just restore the 2002 turbo?

Cheers Guys.
The 2002 i bought wasnt a complete car and was for parts only, otherwise i would have jumped at the chance to restore it.

awesome motor, one of these in the original orange in my old dear's village. is it a camera trick or have you had the front graphic done backwards so in the rearview mirror if you're driving infront it appears the right way? nice touch
beautiful dude, really nice. how much power you planning in the end?

They all like that BMW felt they need to warn other motorist that the 2002 had turbo power and was faster than their cars.

Thanks guys.
Its Aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive.
Car now runs, ok there is no exhaust fitted and the map is only a base map so i can test some shit out but it starts which is a boner for me as i had a mare getting the wiring done.
Also changed out the wheels for ones a bit more sleezy, they are very much love or hate.
Suspension is still to be fitted and work is ongoing with loads of other small jobs

Why fit a YB everyone's done that ! dare say if the spec is from Sweden and knowing what there like power wise over there its not going to be shy of big numbers.
Cracking car looking forward to seeing what this engine bangs out then wait the arrival of the new engine. Would be nice to see the build up of the new engine as well.
Well done cracking project and different !
