Default Milbro G25 (Air Rifle)

ok guys somthing a little different here. My las's dad gave me a old air rifle a ''Made in Britain'' Milbro G25 he had in his garage for messing about with, as ive just bought a PCP i thought id tidy this up a little.
The gun must be over 40 years old and its been left in a cold garage and forgotten about so as im on nightshift this week i though id strip id down to keep me busy for the week

im not renewing anything as its just a project for nights just going to strip it back and reblue it and finish the stock

So last night at work i the barrel in as i didnt want to take a full gun into work ans began stripping the blueing off and genraly cleaning it up.

I was going to shorten the barrel and screwcut it so i could put a silencer on it but one off the lads went ape as its a Milbro and he's into catapults, Milbro make pretty awsome catapults apparently.

its still quite pitted off the rust but i didnt want to rub it down to much as it might end up full of low spots

Do it then! I wouldnt let anyone say oooh you shouldnt do that, it's an old springer at the end of the day in worn condition. Always going to be worth more to you than someone else. Go nuts

just do a bit of a shearch before you cut just in case there is a massive milbro following, but its worth thinking about the less rifeling you have the less afective it will be, but like said above its a bit of fun

Tidy gun m8. Looks very similar to an old webley I had when I was younger.

Is it worth anything? Be a shame to modify it then find out you could have got some decent money for it if it was original

Do you do any work ?? lol.I have an old webley Victor that I repaired and cleaned up.If I am honest its pretty good for an old springer Mine is a carbine and I wish it was a longer barrel tbh.It has sights on it and is good for "plinking" about the yard with. The best bit it was completely free .I kinda gave up with rifles and pistols about 25 years ago,I think the last I had was a powerline .22 pump action. It got a bit silly playing "war" and my mate lost an eye I didnt do it btw

Nope,no selling from me .Tbh I had just shoved in the garage in its bag but after reading this thread its coming back out as soon as the rain bogs off
Its not worth selling really, the stock is split but I put a dowel in it and iirc I sanded it down and varnished it last year.Works a treat for an old un.Good place for spares
http://www.gunspares.co.uk/ OOps says no longer available for your rifle

Adam, is the BSA a good introductory rifle? I used to have a break-barrell back in the day, but fancy something newer.

I was thinking of going for a single shot one. Just looking online where I can "try before I buy".. but not having much luck!

BSA's are great rifles and there made in Birmingham. You could try your local gun shop and have a look at some there but i dont know anywhere that'll let you fire one.

I knew I had seen that vid as soon as I clicked it,on the hunt in a cossie. When I was about 13 the guy next door to me had lurchers and J/russells and used to disappear in the middle of the night and where I live now my mate up the street has a couple of working dogs.Tbh there is quite a few of them around here who have fads on lamping .Its not for me,more of target spots.Saying that I could never get out of my head an ex work colleague telling me about his 22 bolt action (not air ) lifting rabbits clean in the air .As for doing a thread on my WV I dont think its worth it. None ot the smiley's are working !!??

Nice project, I've done a few in the past. Although i've never blacked a rifle before, how did you do it if you don't mind going into it?

I've been messing around with 'cold bluing' its a bit of a pain in the harris due to the weather at the moment.

I got an ultra last year, nice rifles. They have a low shot count, but who needs a million shots.
Mine came with a small silencer on, you don't get much else. lol

Just found out that because I'm left handed the tactical (black one) is right hand only! Bollocks! Have to go for the wood effect one, supposedly ambidextrous.

If you cut the barrel down you need to drill the transfer port to get the power back

I'm taking a trip out on Monday to have a look at a couple possibly, failing that I've got the following week off!
