bargys mk4 escort cosworth
hi thought i would start a thread on my new car, its a 1991 mk4 escort xr3i that im going to convert to rwd and put a cosworth engine in, i have been reading up on the conversion for months now and think i have got my head round most of it but any advise or input would be much appreciated
some of you might have seen my mk4 escort bonus project that is almost ready now, im going to be using that as my every day car and im planning on this being my long term project, i will be stripping the xr3i soon so if anyone wants to buy parts pm me, but anyway heres a few pics to of it to start off with
as soon as my bonus is running i will get this in the garage and start, in the mean time im looking for a sierra doner car
thanks for looking

Nice to see another one getting done
One piece of advice for you, The rear Escort boot floor horizontal line measuring upward verticaly to the arch at 12 O'clock is about 20-25mm higher than a Sierra floor to arch. IMO the diff needs to be mounted as close to the floor line as possible, so that your shafts are angled downwards rather than horizontal or angled up, Also by doing this i've found that the rear camber is not excessively negative.
Hopefully when i launch the car hard the tires will be more square to the road giving better traction. 4x4 may not be so much of an issue but mines RWD aswell and i want to drove it as hard as i can, so traction is GOOD
Have a look at my thread mate, there are loads of photo's on there explaining my reasoning for this, Bad shaft angles can cause CV joint failier.
Good luck with the build anyway, It'll be defo worth it
