sierra with volvo engine
I bought this car off my mate its 2.5 turbo. My plan is to put the engine into a sierra shell i bought a couple of months ago.

its going into a magenta sapphire 4x4 shell. its only gona be rwd tho. I aint sure wat gearbox to use yet. Either i make a bell housing for a type 9 or i mod 2 volvo boxes to suit. I sorta wanna stay away from the standard type 9 because of the power issue. i have already bust 3 type 9 boxes on my other 24v cosworth sierra. i am open to all sugestions as i know very little about the engine or wat will fit on it.

volvo TD 5cyl is RWD out of early 740 760, i used this to put a 5cyl turbo audi motor into a saff. All bolts together fine, swop flywheel i think too.
(volvo/vag TD block is same as Audi petrol turbo bolt pattern)

Easiest is a 960 gearbox as its the same bolt pattern as this otherwise its either make an adapter up or get a adapter of a firm think its in sweden who mate them up to BMW or Supra gearboxes as ive been looking into putting one in a e30

960 with adapters, i can see the sense in that.
going to that extent id be after an E46 m3 or E39 m5 manual box personally, even a late 6sp 330 petrol non turbo box Kev.
Absolutley awesome power plants but im Audi 5 pot at heart, since Volvo copied everything about it in diesel form then in petrol 20v awesomeness but im biaessed massively by my A4 that i converted
and then theres the noise of a genuine Audi 20v...... wow.......

yeah i made the adaptor plate between the gearbox and bell housing that is all. I could of used the volvo box but apparently the t5 can handle more power.

I did a little work to the wiring this week and got the engine to fire up out of the car. i now just have take out all the wires that aint needed to run the engine.
