Thanks for the posts. The car was sat a garage for 7 years then went outside under tarpaulin for another 7 years in Eastbourne (close to the sea) All she needed was a new battery and she started up with fuel that was so stale you couldn't light when poured on the garage floor. Even the auto choke worked!

When i got it home under close inspection i found this.

The fuel tank well.

Both front wings were shot aswell as part of the bulkhead.

I've taken the engine out and stripped car to a rolling chassis, fixed rear arch and fitted two new outer sills and removed the front wings, i just need to find the pictures.

I'm making it as i'm going along as i'm self taught and proper first project rather then boy racer mods.

As you can see being doing some body work but to keep me sain i had to put the engine in. I got the world cup crossmember, engine mounts, water rail and rad from Retro ford. All are lovely and actually fit.
Iv just been emptying my bank. Iv had loads of parts just need some time to fit them all.

I went to retroford and bought a sump and strut brace and all the other stuff off them, i have to say all the parts that i have bought from them have been beautifully made and fitted perfectly, i strongly recommend them for any ford parts! They make most of there own parts and his standards are very high, i tried to buy one of his panhard rods (which was made out of shop) but he wouldn't sell it to me because they were not good enough. Dave (retroford) is a very honest guy and likeable plus his knowledge is scary.

http://www.retro-ford.co.uk/shop/

i'm slowly getting there, just fitting everything to make sure it fits to go of to do the more complicated welding and to painted.

Thinking about metallic dark red (maroon). Going to get a front and rear spoiler. Wheel not shore, maybe RS 4 spokes or minilight in the anthracite and polished outers but I do have a set of allycat rally specials

Thanks. Talk to Dave at Retro ford, he thinks it maybe the 1st 4 door run a duratec I think it would cheaper if I went the YB route. No need 4 new bell housing etc

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas about which front brakes to for? I'm going for 200bhp at first but maybe 300 when finances allow.

Thanks I alway forget to look at what those guy at retro ford mag have done. iv got the sierra rears already, so good chose here. ha ha . I'll have a look at them. My dad had drilled and grooved discs on his sierra sapphire cosworth and he did not like them. He felt that "for road use plan disc stop you better" and "they do not make silly noise". Thank again.

This weekend was quite a good. Got my gearbox half in. The car was an auto, so with the larger tunnal is handly but the chassis mounts are in odd place. If u try and use 4 cylinders type 9 gearbox but not if you are doing a duratec with a v6 type 9 gearbox it look like it lines up using the auto mount. I just need to find now. Plus got exhaust on But it's going to need some mob to get it closer to the body. At the it about 2" off the ground.

Great build you got going there.

As for brakes depends how much you are looking to spend really but one of the best you could buy would be the 13" Ap kit if you were looking to go for 300bhp in the future as would save an upgrade. Theres also a set up Willwood do aswell
