My friend Martin will be helping me out this weekend as he's a pro with wiring escorts now so we may even see her start!

Well now I have had this arrive too!

Cheers mate, had a bit of hassle getting it as normal escort one arrived first time.

Found a 1.4 petrol van on google and used the registration from it to get the correct tank ordered, really didnt want to modify a tank as not trusting it not to fail and vapours escaping etc

Massive thanks to Martin today who came around and started my wiring, hes done loads of it and got lights working etc

he wanted to have it running today but because I hadn't got the rad on yet etc I tiold him not to kill himself trying to start it.

whilst he did the wiring I managed to change the tanks over...

old and new -

RS fuel pump fitted -

Martin at work -

the drive looking pikey lol

The wiring taking shape!

Loads have people have said theyve used standard fuel lines as theyre long enough, they do look long enough but looks like a rubbish fit against the chasis and the back of bay / bulk head etc

So thetll need strapping onto the van tighter, ill figure that out during the week though more soon!

Cheers mate yeh Martin is braver than me lol

Update -

Went to see Mat Randel today and had a good nosey round his van with K-Boom and Goldfinger too.

Because he's converted to 4x4 he has no use for these bits I purchased from him...

Purpose build Powerflow s/s for direct fit to van! compared in picture next to standard one I was going to chop up.

And also modifed rear beam for the van so I can now lower the back and also has discs and cables for direct fit again to my van.

Will try and get fitted up soon but I think I'm gona give the beem a lick of hammerite first lol

kev make a guard or cover for the brake line where the exhaust goes over it, with the beam now lower the exhaust gets very close to the brake line. My mate had a flat brake line in no time you could re do the line so it sits in a different position

Cheers for that, I'll have a look at it once it's all fitted but don't think I'll have that issue as thisewas all used on a van with no trouble.

The exhaust was made on the van by PowerFlow so shouldn't have clearance issues either I hope.

Looking good I've put bit of chopped up silicone hose over the said brake line on the rear axle and cable tied it on. I was sick of hearing my exhaust clang on it

They're not staying Glenn mate, got a couple of sets of Monza's here for it now.

One set in Gold and the other in Black, when Morettes and Cossie Bib are on it the Diamond Cut's will look out of place, they're to nice for me pikey van lol

The standard vaux turbo pistons do work in the RS blocks with no skimming although need a little modding to fit rods.

Cant remember tonight which ones are low comp of the vaux ones, as not done much with those myself.

I am now going to put a 2.3 in this with 2.0 crack, it brings the comp to 8:6,1 and perfect for turboing and bonus its all unmolsted parts, so should see 200bhp easy.

Started sorting out rear disc beam today and getting it ready to paint.

I had a trip to A&E to though as got metal in my eye lol went past the protective glasses as well

Went back after though and got the zinc primer on it.

Once its all painted I'll get it bolted on the van if the weather aint to bad.

Thnaks for the answer, i know the wrist pin is like 0.5 mm different so i will have to sort that out, but it was the deck height that bothered me.

Popped into my unti a few times this week on my way home form work, little detore lol

Only spent a few minutes there each time though, put a coat of paint on each day and it then had 24 hours to dry before I returned lol

Black Hammerite Hammer Effect Paint.

Have a box full of bits here at home now in my utility room that I have to clean back and paint up to, me mate Tims gona make me some new brake lines up for it in a couple of weekends when I get time to pop into his garage.

Don't know what it'll take yet so I'll push it till it goes bang then I'll replace engine knowing the limit lol 8:6.1 should be OK though as theres no de-comp plates or skimming of pistons I am hoping it'll surprise me.
