Default Help 1.8 zetec mk2 fiesta wiring

hi all i have a 1989 mk2 fiesta with a 1.8 zetec fitted. I have a set of honda cbr900 bike carbs on the way with an inlet manifold aswel.. Im on an EXTREMELY tight budget and i just want to get the engine running. I have got an ecu and wiring loom from a 2.0 zetec mondeo and a 1.8 zetec escort loom and ecu could i use them in any way? I really have no experience with wiring whatsoever as i am just restoring my 1st car and i am 15 years old. Any help would be hugely appreciated and thanks so much in advance.

no it wont!

if you are going to run the bike carbs instead of injection as stated then the above method will not work. what you will need is an esc modual and the loom to suit you will find these on late 90 spec mk4 escorts and there is a similar system used on early mk5 escorts which will also work, these are designed to drive a standard ford coilpack via an eidis modual you basicly need to find a late mk4 or early mk5 escort in the scrappy that has a coilpack but also runs a carb then take the lot eidis and the esc with the vac line going to it.

if i can find a link to one ill post it up so you know what to look for, no more than a tenner in the scrappy and no ecu's to arse about with

as far as providing a spark goes yeh

theres a little supressor on the wing as well for the tacho (if you use mk5) if you go for the mk5 stuff it'll be slightly easyer for you to wire up as its a seperate engine loom were as the mk4 one will have to be split from the main car loom. either way theres only a couple of wires to get it running, pm me if you have any probs
