£350 mk6 transit crew van
I got hold of this back in feb after a few headaches with the previous owners having fuel problems with it for the price of £350 where they have had fitted a recon fuel pump and still was the same (struggles/ wont start seems to be drawing in air somewhere) problems so currently trying to get the plastic fuel pipes to change them in case one has a pin hole etc as ive just renewed the filter head too which was FOC thankfully !!!
Plan for the van is mainly to get it clean as possible as it was a plasterers van so you can imagine what state it was in !! Then it will be used mainly for running round collecting dead and abandend projects mainly MG's Jags and daimlers etc for my uncles business and also for towing mine or stickys car around for trackdays/shows/ring trips etc and for following varoius rallys !!

What year is it? I swear transits were made to rot!
Would it worth sorting that rust on the floors and sills before its too late? or you just doing it up and flogging it on?
Good job with that

No mate its doing my head in to be honest changed filter head the other week got it bled up and started pretty easy with bit of easy start ran for about 5-10 mins then it just died like it had ran out of fuel then wouldnt re start again even though it all seems bled up ok
Just ordered a set of plastic pipes from filter head to pump and leak off rail and also got a crank sensor as theyre cheap and precautionary measure

Glenn the fuel pump was done in january as that what was thought was the problem originally with it not starting but is still the same obviously lol !! we also had the fuel tank off and drained and cleaned it too but found nothing obvious so start changing random parts now to see i e can cure it !! yes its going to need a couple of plates doing soon around the doors steps under the matt area but should be fine to get it mot'd

Could be worth trying using a dummy fuel tank and getting it running by putting fuel directly into the pump, bypassing the tank and filter head.
Had one last week that had exact same symptoms you are having and it was one of the plastic fuel pipes at the tank had a minor split in it, obviously enough to make it draw air and run like a bag of shite after a few minutes !!
Worth a go mate.

Quick up date as van is proper p***ing me off !!!!!
Ive renewed the injectors now as numerous people said this would cure the problem but no such luck so now its had pump recond, injectors renewed, all pipes changed, filter head changed, sender unit changed and cam sensor renewed and also engine loom out and checked and refitted
Would a worn DMF cause a engine not to start and would it show any fault codes ??

yes mate i had that problem with the dmf before, take the box out and look only take 1/2 an hour, the second part for the dmf will be covering the bolts, and the sensor wont see its mark at the right time.
the codes you get is pump timing codes and fuel pressure codes, the crank sensor say's it good and getting a signal but getting the signal at the wrong time
