Nice work mate the only thing I would look at again is the water pipe sitting on top of the manifold as its cast it will hold the heat much longer than thin walled stainless so it might cause you an issue with high water temps I would run it underneath the manifold as there's plenty of room down there

Cheers paul

turbo m - nope, it's a chinese t04e with the innards removed and replaced with something bigger.

i know people who tig weld as a hobby, but none who do it for a job, whys that?

Paul - There's actually more room there than you can see in the pics, although i had intended to run a heatshield between the two anyway... just another thing on the long 'to do' list

well just an update to say that the car is now running and driveable. it has yet to be mot'd though as there are a few issues i'd like to get fixed first. It's certainly not a show-er but it should be a go-er

quick pic of the bay:

it doesn't look anything special, but i've never been about under bonnet bling anyway. as long as it works, i'm happy . It's had a base map on ms2, i just need to do a couple hundred miles on it as a shakedown before we give it some welly!

Well the old girl is still going, managed to take it to ford power live. It's now been mapped properly and is making somewhere around 350bhp. found a short clip of me leaving, doesn't look anything special but i was 4 up

I'm at 2:52

also a little video of the acceleration, there's a slow start and i don't get far before the farm track becomes a bit thin at those speeds:

Serious stuff this fella. I myself am looking into a turbo zetec so I can keep toyo in business. I appreciate showing the problems you faced, ill avoid the retro ford water rail since I might go for the same manifold, I was hoping to use RS parts but the price of them make me itch a little :/ Is it still going strong?
