Escort mk3 track car project
Thought I would start a thread to document the building of my mk3 track car project.
To releave a bit of boredom at work one day I bought a cheap mk4 escort track car form ebay and bought this mk3 escort ghia to transfer all the good bits on to. After a flight down to Heathrow and a freezing drive back to Scotland (the mk4 had no heaters) me and a mate got two cars back home and they have sat in the garage doing nothing for a few months but after a some moaning from my mate to pull my finger out three of us got tore in about the mk3 today and got her stripped ready to start getting her prepared for paint.

Thanks for that, yeah the shell is in really good condition it will need a couple of little bits of welding but for a 29 year old car it's not at all bad. The build may take a while as I'm away with work a lot but hopefully she'll be track ready by Ford Fair, I'm planning on fitting a 2.0 zetec with either 45's or throttle bodies but I have a tuned CVH on 40's sitting as well so that may get chucked in to start with until I get the zetec built and ready to run.

I'm still undecided on that at the moment, not to sure whether to keep it as a spare engine so if the zetec is out at any point for work I can still use the car or if I should just sell it to free up some space in the garage. I'll keep you posted on what I decide on.
