Yes but the point is, if you didn't chuck money at buying odd wheels, and bodging on bits of exhaust, you could actually make a half decent car out of it. For the £80 you've wasted on that stupid cherry bomb exercise, I guarantee you could have bought a proper exhaust system for it, which would have actually worked.

If you actually listened to people who've been doing it for a long time, and realised how badly you're wasting time and money, I see no reason why, for less than £250, you couldn't have it lowered, sitting on a set of pepper pots, with a proper exhaust on it. Like that, it would look smart, be done properly and gain people's respect, and I'm sure you'd be far happier with it too.

Kwik Fit etc do MOTs and brakes and things, doesn't make them a proper garage. Still fucking cowboys

look at pictures of other mk2's and you WILL see that pepperpots work (front and back ) lattices will look okay (again, front and back) and plenty of other ford wheels

i put ford in bold so that you dont get confused between ford and fox

wheels are on there way now so just wait and see, mid next week ish. if it doesnt look good Ill see which wheels suit the car best then probily buy 2 more matching.
As can always just do up 2 of the wheels then stick them back on ebay with a couple of tyres on.

Honestly, i am not going to tell you what you should and shouldn't do to your car, because everyone has the right to do as and what they please when modifying their own vehicle.
Admittedly, i agree with what most people on this thread are trying to advise you, sadly to little affect.

However, i think you should give some serious thought to laying off modifying your car, and concentrate on getting your license.

And putting some money aside for your insurance....because sure enough when that day comes when you need to get insurance, and you explain to them that you have added alloys, and fitted a cherry bomb on the back, and you did this all by yourself, (hats off to you)...well, after they have picked themselves up off the floor from laughter, your insurance will be priced somewhere in the outer stratophere.

All i am saying is just give it some thought...

Stripped out the seats, carpet and sound proofing earlier and this is the result ^^^^^^^^ NO RUST OR ROTT what so ever in any footwell. Got rid of all the sould proofing as it stunk of stale water and was ruined so may just underseal the floor, jet wash the carpet and chuck it all back in after tidying up a few bits.




This is where its leaking in so screen needs to come out and resealing but for now a clear bonding paste will have to be used to stop water ruining my carpet again.



Starting on the body work in the morning so hopefully by the end of tomorrow the grey part of the sills will be sanded back, patchy bits ground down then time for the bottom to be primered then painted black.

Finally got round to uploading new pics. Both sills have been ground down to get rid of that horrible grey primper.

Here it is all stripped back, in really good nick just brushed on some genolite and it was good.

believe it or not that patchy weld that was there ground down perfectly and is smooth despite what that pic looks like.

first 1 down, Just sprayed black the brushed on under sealer and it looks really neat "honestly" well happy with the result

This is the only down fall on the whole car, will get it sorted eventually (NOT WITH FILLER) but for now just stuck the old genolite on it then smothered it in sealer

Mix match wheels, xr3i wheelssuit the car down to the ground, look awesome so gonna sell on the 2 pepper pots.

All the interior is now back in minus the sound proofing as it was shot. Cleaned everything up including the carpet so it doesnt smell anymore and also fixed the leaky windscreen with some screen bonding solution and it works a treat.
Also had some time to install and wire up my cd player and all works great

Thought i may aswel stick the speakers in the parcel shelf while all the carpet and trims were out to make it a bit easier. All new speaker wire all hidden behind trims and sounds pretty good for what they are.



Saw these Mondeo 16" alloys going for £40 locally and just couldnt resist, in need of a refurb so get that sorted and spray the black or silver.
Fitted them to my car and they look absolutely stunning on it but need 10mm spasers on the back (just to clear the trailing arms) and not going to bother on the front as they catch on inner arches on both full locks.
Mondeo wheels on the back and xr3i wheelson the front !!!!! It'll look mean as F**k. Like it alot, try it soon as spacers arrive

This is on the rear and has shed loads of clearance even when somone is bouncing in the boot.

AWESOME seen these wheels on a mk2 before at a car show and seen them on the net aswell so it can be done.

forgot to mension aswell just bought this xr2 full kit for £28 (BARGAIN) form ebay also in the post. If it is a little ropey when it arrives ill clean the kit up and paint if it really needs it, no rush to fit it.

Like another man said I read this post for a few laughs, but I admit the latest wheel choice doesn't look half bad...at least it's genuine ford design and it sorta' manages to work.
Still you hald to be yourself and destroy that parcel shelf essentially halfordising the tidy interior you had thus far..Kudos!
