if you can weld just buy a 12 quid adjuster and weld it in
thats much cheaper than buying a pan hard rod for 80 quid.
alternatively since u bodge most other stuff... just trim 10mm or however much is needed off yours!

Default little update on fiesta

Good news, sold the Fox wheels and now just bought xr3i lattice wheels from ebay, getting delivered in next day or 2.
Think they will look pretty good. tried forover a week to get hold of some pepper pots but no1 would have them sent by courier so these will have to do. Pics on the way of what they look like on car.
These tyres are 185-60-14 so what would happen if i put 165-70-13 tyres on would look like the rear tyres on this car below, if not how is this possible. ???????????????????

To look like the rear wheel of that fiesta you would a lower profile and smaller width than you have on them at the moment.
So instead of a 185/60/14 you would need something like a 165/40/14. And it would handle worse than you could imagine.

dont under tire it, it only looks good on cars that are seriously low, and was done so the wheels didnt scuff the arches, yours is standard height.
it looks wank and handles wank! but because the cars are that low the people that do it dont care.
just put 185's on and spend money on the brakes

just get a lower profile tire eg 185/45/40's will make the wheel look bigger with out the stretch dont bother with the stretch look you will only scuff the rims to bits as they will poke out way too far!! think these wheels should look nice on the fez slammed a good few inches aswell!!

Change of plan, not getting the lattice wheels anymore so sticking with pepper pots, just bought and payed for 2 wheels on ebay without tyres for £36. Now thinking of getting 2 different pattern of wheel with a bigger rim diameter something like 14" or 15" for the rear wheels and the 13" pepper pots on the front. Should look really good but just a thought for now.

Let me know if you have just 2 pepper pots for sale in any condition, if so how much for the postage to LEEDS. cash waiting

Only really works on RWD cars. Would look a bit odd on a fiesta.

itd drive okay as it is, no powersteering but the cars very light so doesnt matter. engine isnt powerfull (yet revs well) the car has slightly better hp/tonne than a old boxy shape pug 106.

take the water out the footwell or it'll rot like my mk1 has (alot of metal needs replacing, yours is mint compared to mine)

only mechanical mods im doing for my first year of driving is installing mk1 xr2 adjustable koni shocks and lowering springs with polybushes. will handle like a go kart. Will also be stripped out but carpeted.

Default little update not much

Now actually got pepper pots but only 2 for the moment, just gonna use the tyres from the steelies as there in good nick and will do for now.
In need af a refurb so gonna find a place to get the sand blasted then go from there, thinking white or summat that stands out.

Also just bought these 2 xr3i 14" lattice wheels and these will be going on the rear and the pepper pots on the front or may be the other way, see when they get here. Also in need on sand blasting. (Dont knock it just yet just wait till both sets are fitted them give me ur comments.)

The exhaust is kind of mounted at the back for now, not going any where so it willdo till i buy a mig welder or hire one. tail pipe is flared at the tip as it was part of an old exhaust but it was just the right length and clamped straight on to the cherry bomb. brilliant sounding honestly (its not how u all think it is.)

Just in need of a rub down and paint on the bare metal then job done. No leaks what so every wahaaaaay

Now to the bad bits, first pic ive taken since the fox wheels went and look how shite it it without them, what a let down

Wot a shed at the min but will all change soon as its getting warmer and daylight is longer so gonna start getting stuck in after work on a night. All mechanicals are done so its just the cosmetics and sort the leaky windscreen and 1 of the rear windows, doing my head in now letting the water in and making passenger side of the car a little mouldy, found 2 mushrooms growing the other day. But took the seat out and pulled carpet away and its all still solid and No signs of weakness in the floorpan or underneath.
Gonna book a driving test again soon as i need to pass before mid June this year.

Imagine we all bodged a few cars at some point.
Personally looking back through the mists of time. i would of got some pepper pots, cleaned them up if they needed. (rattle can) Chopped the springs to slam it, then just clean up the body work, again with rattle cans.
Maybe a St/St back box, or XR2.
What you spent so far on this. ? Think the time and money you have spent so far you could of achieved this. ?

That shitty rear mount is bodged just till i get hold of a welder to weld a little L shaped bracket on. The cars not being driven on the road yet so it doesnt matter for now

havnt really spent anything yet only clutch, front disks & pads, around £80 on the exhaust, £35 for 2 pepper pots, £40 for 2 xr3i wheels and a few other little bits so not much really.

how would u recommend cutting the springs, might try 1 see how it goes.
Cut if from top of spring or bottom ???
Thanks

get much wage? I dont see how you can be this ''shit'' at working on your own car when you work in a garage, You must be picking up at least £100 a week even on apprenticeship pay, i was on that at 16 and i managed to build my old td04 starlet

The £80 you've wasted on that stupid bodge of an "exhaust" would probably have bought you a proper second hand aftermarket system, that fitted and actually worked properly. If you paid £35 for two pepperpots and £40 for two XR wheels, you've been had. As for cutting springs; just don't even go there.

I think you really need to actually start listening to people's advice, as you're throwing money away at the moment.

If you work in a garage, surely you can plainly see that everything you're doing is a bodge? Or should we be avoiding the garage where you work?

Pepperpots up front, lattices on the back.... Im sure that will look stunning NOT
Dont cut the springs yourself, you'll end up doing it wrong like the rest of the car. Get lowering springs and maybe xr2 shocks

As said before, nothing changes

Wasn't recommending chopping the springs,
Was just saying at 18 that's probably what i would of done.
Old mk3 escort XR3i's used to demand 1.5 coils of the front and 2 at the back.
Drill the a hole through the top cover so you can jubilee or steel band them in position, so they cant pop out.
But as said above, if you can waste money on that exhaust you could bought some cheap springs.
