Not bin on here for a while as i've gotten attached to xrtwo.com so think it's time for a little update on my car and so far going well. Mostly random pics below.

These wheels are not in use anymore, was on ebay but didn't sell so keeping them for good.

Oh ye xr2 kit is back on.
New wheels
Xr2 kit back on
Coolant temp gauge finally working (over a year on and finally sorted)

This side skirt just wants tweeking a little so sit straight
Lovely lovely wheels just simply the best.... better than all the rest.. . and so on

This side sits perfectly shame it needs these two arches though

Cossie brakes nicely on show

Thats what i mean about the arches, corners chopped off as i attempted to fit them to the van

Cooooool

Comments welcome. Wheels look great don't they

Heres my new steering wheel, thought i'd try a proper size wheel over my old 11" wheel.

Also got a new boss and a removable boss so feel much more at ease when my cars parked up at night.

New piccy looks so cool imo, yes needs painting but waiting till June to start.
I've decided to Paint the car WHITE 'cant wait' so a week in June is booked as holiday from work

so hopefully a week will be enough. Im gonna buy a new N/S wing again as this one
i put on before is a really shit fit.

What's the steering wheel? And also what size are the white alloys? Would you be interested in selling? If so how much?

The steering wheel is just a cheap one from ebay but it's very good quality and a real nice feel, well worth the money imo
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2510047433...84.m1497.l2648

The wheels are 15" but im gonna hang onto these

Cool and thanks for saying the exhaust sounds nice. Armley? must have had a back seat full of tyres picking them up for work.

Here they are all 4 are now complete, it took probily 10 hours in total over the last 3 nights but they are now mint and loook so cool imo

All i've done is use Matt Black vinyl wrap and came out brilliant so defo do this on future wheels. The white part ive just used touch up pen on a few paint chips but stiil look bril
Im in 2 minds wheather to sell or not but Might sell these for the right price, tyres will be fitted at work tomorrow 195-50-15 all 4 as new very little use

ok ill admit this cars starting to look allright, but do me (and yourself a favour) when you take the wing of to replace with a well fitting one just have a practice at your welding, fuck off the gasless mig and have a play with some steel beforehand the quality of a weld is a lot more important than most people would think, im a coded welder so if you are struggling with any welding pm me some pictures of your test pieces and ill try to guide you through your welder settings to get you to a perfect weld
good luck with the car, also if you want it painting and dont mind travelling to preston ill get my bodyshop to paint it for you, it wont be cheap mind but it will be a spot on job

jesus what a read.... im not going to lie to you, thats some of the most horrendous modifications ive ever seen. your right in saying everyone has there own opinion and thats mine, and ive got the feeling, alot of others too...however the end product isnt too bad. i cant help but ask, would it not of been easier and a hell of alot cheaper to simply fit an xr2 bodykit/nice wheels/lowering springs at the start of this project? because thats basically what youve ended up with (minus a few stickers) and thats all the mk2 should have really.

one more thing, please dont wrap the bonnet in carbon..... it will probably be the only mk2 in the world with that and for a reason.....

Take this offer up mate A good weld is important and listening to experience is the way forward, actually really like the wheels too, cars going the right way now keep it up, go read through this whole thread and you'll see what looks like someone growing up and maturing lol

Just read ALL of this after it was posted on another forum I use.

If I can spare a slot in my time machine you can pop back to the scooter and save all the money and now be driving this:

My only real concern is PLEASE stop buying all these wheels, pick a set and stick with them and save the money for other parts, this isn't Sparta but it's still madness.

Default little update

Little Update

So work begins again on the fezbomb, i bought a used wing and front bumper for a bargain a few week back then i've spent a few nights in the shed preping them as they were blue and had surface rust but came up perfect. Started by ripping off the pattern part wing as it was a sh!t fit, so got this new one to fit perfect where it didn't before (not quite finished yet at front will be done tomorrow)

Prep and painting begins in just 1 week, all materials and a massive gazebo have all been purchased so all ready, got 3 days off work so i'll start prepping the door shuts etc use the car all week then i have 10 days of work to finally paint the car next week. White btw with white bumpers, nice polished up xr kit and them wheels in pics but black. Should be sweet afterwards imo (hope you can see my intension here)

OH YE RODNEY, CHRIS I USED GAS THIS TIME

I've decided to nut and bolt this wing on atm but may plug weld tomorrow, cant make my mind up

The whole lip from the arch cut off, smoothed and primered so my wheels fit

Bonnet and door shut lines are evenly spaced out this time round and next am gonna tweek the other side it may be just the bonnet hinge that needs fettling thh.

All comments welcome

Ryan

Piss taking. i think you will be better off painting it the original colour. Less hassle, smaller are to do and cheaper. Plus you wont have the original colour in the panel gaps and engine bay on a white car.

DONE IT sorted now, welded the front seem, ground back and filled and it worked perfectly tbf just need to do this to the other side now.

It took a while but a nice even gap.

f*ck it screws were already in there holding the wing in place so left em and decided to weld aswell no harm done.

Needs another skim of filler but the smooth shape is bang on. Just needed to get some paint on to protect it until next week.

I finally found a way to fit the xr kit neatly without using foam on the wing.
As you can see the bonnet hinge needs adjusting slightly now and might take it off to finish the vents off anyway.

Default Update time. All pics are copied straight from my thread on xrtwo.com.

Here goes then. Prep work started today didn't really get far as i decided to sort out the bonnet as the hinges were bent so it took alot of time lining and welding them up.

Both corners smoothed off nicely now so all the hard work is done now, it's just simple sanding from now on.

Getting there now but f*ck me sanding is boring and listening to the radio playing the same songs on loop just adds to the bordom

Just got the n/s and the rear end to tomorrow so hopefully start paint on Thursday

This is the pattern wing, what the f*ck is that black paint they use? anyway sanding it was a pain, had to go to bare metal

So here was the offending article.

This and a few pics underneath are the rollered pics

So as you can see it's not the worst paint job in the world with a roller, lets say its passable but the finish just wasnt't a quality standard.

= roller almost like a golf ball kinda dries slightly dimpled

This is a pic from tonight all flatted off so it's as it should be now ready for SPRAYING on the top coats tomorrow. Can't fooking wait to put it back together Monday.

Flatted ready

This is where i tested the spray gun earlier toady , its just superb tbh
Also FOOKING love these vents although thats my opinion, most of you will disagree im sure

And again just "smooooooothlyperfection"

Let me know if yo like it

Im thinking of painting the wheels black, yes or no?
and
I bought a length of black mesh so thinking of using for the lower part of the grill good idea or not?
Thanks in advance for replying
