Unfortunately it still looks like this, i've took all the xr2 kit off and binned it and totally ripped out the interior. Theres a hole in the boot in the other corner and a small hole in the outer sill that was covered up by the skirt.
I wanna get it back on the road within a couple of months so ive already started buying the parts, headlights ordered and maybe a decent pair of second hand front wings. I'm wanting the car white so will get it ready for this bit by bit. (white is just the best colour)
IF ANYONE HAS A FRONT PANEL, BONNET, RADIATOR FOR SALE ILL BUY THEM.
While thats going on im driving the Escort van so here's a few pics of how its looking, its a good little van but the body work lets it down and need to get the welder to 1 of the sills its gonna be a 10" patch. Also got round to getting mi 15" softspoke alloys painted in white ready to be fitted to the car when its finished.

Wheels look better with the centre caps

This carbon fibre 3d wrap is awesome i've wrapped all sorts in this stuff now and it really looks professional

Next is to do this to the fiesta door cards stealth shelf and dash and maybe the bonnet if the car will eventually be white.

Updates on the way, alot to do so and advice much much appreciated
Thanks

Default Little update

Started with getting the front wings off and supprisingly inner wings are brilliant but im gonna cut out a small amout and weld in some new metal on both sides for piece of mind.

Now just the front panel to remove now. Parts are ordered, just need to get stuck in on evenings to get it finished.

Default Little Update

New front panel, not genuine but seems to be a great panel.

Thought i had a real problem as the front legs were a little crumpled but reall not bad, managed to bash them straight so now its to strengthen them with a plate. Crossmember is totally straight.

Just waiting a couple of weeks to order the front wings then its time to weld back together.

This is how the front was removed, what a pain in the ar*e.

Inner wings are now all cleaned up but im gonna underseal the whole lot.

Just held on with vice grips and fits nicely, cant wait to drive it again.

This bonnet is fecked so bought a modified one last week.

Mk2 should look good with these wheels imo, gonna test fit 1 at the weekend just for a pic.

All the arches need sorting as i painted a black lip due to grinding back the paint a while back then was covered by the xr kit.

Get stuck in plenty to do, shame you got rid of the kit, looked very nice with it and would look better with it fitted when the car is white, and you could always paint the kit white too

My first time doing work like this btw.
I got on the fiesta today and made good progress.
What a pain in the ar*e fitting the front end on my own and welding with no gas but came out ok.
So heres the result after a bit of work, all cleaned up now with plenty of under sealer on, might even hammerite over it.

Here's my bodge repair as when i removed the first wing cut into the A post a little. sorted now though.

All in all very clean imo

This side was annoying to fit, it took alot of bending and even hammering the body to fit.

Just this side to fit tomorrow (just clipped in place here), piss easy as this side sits on perfectly in place compared to the other

Commets/advice welcome
The way i've gone about fitting the wings is drilling a hole in the wing mount and plug welding. Is that the way to do it without a spot welder or not? how does everyone else do it, forgot to ask before starting the work.

All is going well so far so look like the car will be back on the road and insured once again before the end of Febuary a and can't wait
I won some Weller wheels on ebay today so pics to come. Different widths for front and back i think.

This is the bonnet i bought couple of week back. It has had Astra Gsi bonnet vents moulded into it by the previous owner and looks ace. I'm gonna wrap it in 3d carbon fibre once it's finished.

It's F**KING done oooooOOOOO yeeeer. Well nearly just paint to do but it's gonna my every day car again so ongoing project.,

This bonnet is fecking cool imo and when i wrap it in carbon fibre even better.

Im not gonna have a front bumper for a while unless one comes up very cheap plus im missing 1 end cap from the front.

The shut lines on this side a pretty good but the other side could have been better, still good enough though.

Here they are 7j and 6j-rolled lip
I paid Ł63 off ebay
What they worth ???

Comments welcome

Come on the bonnet is cool it's not a pimped up chavvy thing, Erst and stuff like that have vents so why not this.
And whats wrong with the wheels, i've sen them on other mk2's and with the right size tyre suit really well and stick out the arch a bit. pics of this on tuesday night.

Welding without gas? You plonker, no wonder your welds appear to be and are undoubtedly porous.

This is a habit you need to get yourself out of, while i admire your determination and enthusiasm, im shellshocked at how much you have poured into that little old car, raped, abused, crashed, bodge repaired, seriously get your head looked at because its clear you have some sort of anxiety/ attention deficit problem and bastardising a car is the only way you can feel some release, i cannot work out why ive just read through 20 odd pages of bullshit and still cannot workout why people have gone to the effort of telling you whats the point, why bother, and all the other negative comments youve had, you will look back on this in years to come and cringe, trust me.

Tbh the bonnet isn't bad and its his car after all so he's the only one getting seen in it. welding with no gas is not good as the weld won't be as strong. Well done i think your getting there and don't crash it this time

Right then im back driving the car yet again, fully insured and the car is in perfect running order just needs a few finishing touches. Then a week after getting it back on the road the core plug behind the fly wheel popped out. All work done below and thats how it stands atm.

Just a few week old pic at work

Doing the core plug. It had to be the one behind the f*cking fly wheel din it

That little fecker it actually flew out and hit the bottom of the car while driving. I was at the amount of shitty, dirty crap that came out the engine so now my new coolant is now nice and clean.

Also fitted new poly bushed bottom arms while i was under there

So here's how it stands, odd wheel as these wheels were fitted to my van and i f*cked up the locking nut on the last wheel after market one aswell a 4 pin so f*ck knows how to get it off

Not some peoples cup a tea but so what i like it

Yes arches look sh!t atm but before i did have the xr kit on so wasn't bothered. Might fit a kit again anyone got a kit or just the arches as i have the front/rear valances and skirts? how much posted?

same again on this arch no rust just needs finishing.

Im really liking these wellers (sh!t tyre size atm) but in order to fit them it would mean removing cossie brakes

these might be going soon if i can find a set i really like.

Yes the door card looks gash but this will be wrapped in carbon fibre soon as will the stealth shelf. Im after a new steering wheel and boss if anyone has one for sale????????? soon as

Subaru sti seats but would like some recaros at some point

Still on the look out for:
steering wheel and boss
front bumper any spec
xr2 arches
and any other things people may like to suggest

All the things you've listed i actually like, it is my car afterall especially the 3d carbon fibre wrap i bought a couple of metres off ebay liked the look and feel so started wrapping stuff like phone, laptop, backing on tv remotes, glass laptop table, dash panels on my van the list goes on !!

Sunstrip is brilliant when sunny for obvious reasons !!

11" old skool steering wheel really gives a great feel when driving it adds to the illusion of a go kart !! certainly handles like one

Red calipers just my thing !!

Stickers just a bit of fun !!

I also have reasons for any other criticisms you may have !!

the styling isn't to my tastes, but that's your thing and you're happy with that.
the quality of welding does concern me a little, especially where you cut into A pillar and snotted it back together.
I have seen far worse being done to more credible vehicles so listen to the tips of how to do and ignore the styling advice if it's not what you're after, but do listen to advice on welding!

i will admit and say the welding was rushed but its good enough car has been on the road maybe 3+ week now with no problems with the bodywork, no rust coming through the welds or anything. Been of work today so just went for a drive pretty much all day 200+ so much fun there was alot of potholed roads about and everything is still in its place.
