I still do not understand why so many mods, that are not really needed? I can understand wanting to make a car look better as im doing the same with my mechanic other half. But 4x4 calipers on a 2 wheel drive car. From what I have seen is what you think is a small change with a car turns out to be huge as everything else has to be changed to compensate.

i only read the first couple and last couple of pages of this epic 30 page thread. i always look on the bright side of life and take things lightly but oh my god what the hell goes through your mind!!! what an absolute douchebag!!! that mk2 fiesta for a first car, make it safe and tidy and standard and let it be! has given me a good laugh anyway. your taste in modifications is horrible, i really thought it was a joke! best advice i have is give up

just to add get an insurance quote on engine conversion and all mods declared before you even start converting it. i would be impressed if you get genuine cover for under 4k
and you will declare everything.....right?

How many time do i have to tell people on ere before they take it in
Its my car and ill do what i want, although in my opinion it looks brilliant as it is. Its me who actually drives it so little mods such as:

Lowering 50mm (sits nicely and handles great)

Subaru seats (comftable and look great plus never seen in a fiesta before)

Rs7 15" alloys (rare and look the dogs dangles)

Spot lights (after market, really bright and use the angel rings as day time running lights)

Stealth shelf (I like my music so fitted some propper speakers to it)

MDF door cards (wanted a change to my interior a little so did this with a speaker in each side and removed door pocket)

Exhaust (has standard xr2 exhaust fitted now, to quiet for me so will be changing this in the near future but looks great as it has the baffled type end pipe)

Cosworth Front Brakes (why not, people have done it before and they will look great behind the black wheels as calipers will be silver)

XR2 bodykit (i dont particually like the standard look much when the cars bin lowered, kit is on propper so im loving it)

Sunstrip (So what its not like it cant be changed, i like it other people do too)

Cant think of out else

And what about the people who own these cars and have the really rough Tatty Rat look, mine actually looks decent

Also any ideas on a dirt cheap alarm so i dont have to disconnect 1 of the coil leads under the bonnet every time so it doesnt get nicked??

Not just yet saving for a couple of week then get 260mm discs new pads and get the cossie brakes fitted, try get another exhaust soon aswell thats all for now

Ok im gonna highlight things that need sorting as theyre crap, im not doing this to wind you up its just genuine advice and this will be the last time I give you any.

Lowering 50mm (sits nicely and handles great)
thats fine as long as youve replaced the dampers for somthing like spax as then you'll get the most out of your springs, also i hope you have an adjustable panahrd rod.

Subaru seats (comftable and look great plus never seen in a fiesta before)
there is a reason for this as they arent great seats at all, not very comfy and look as cheap as they were. Id still say go with 90 spec recaros as these are brilliant and very comfy on long journeys and they fit straight in

Rs7 15" alloys (rare and look the dogs dangles)
this is something you need to sort out as they look wrong and dont suit the style which tbh im not sure which style you meant to be going with, have a look on midland wheels for inpiration.

Again spots on a base spec that didnt come with them screams of try hard, just remeber with these fiestas less is more. if you dont know what that means just ask.

Stealth shelf (I like my music so fitted some propper speakers to it)
These are ok ish but I dont know what you mean by propper speakers but 6x9s are crap, honestly. for that size car just some small component speakers are fine.

MDF door cards (wanted a change to my interior a little so did this with a speaker in each side and removed door pocket)
youd get a better look with plastic sheeting tbh and it wont look as cheap as mdf, its easy to shape and doesnt cost that much.

Exhaust (has standard xr2 exhaust fitted now, to quiet for me so will be changing this in the near future but looks great as it has the baffled type end pipe)
This is brilliant, you will get more respect for a subtle exhaust on a low powered car and you never know girls may actually want to talk to you rather than being drowned out my a loud exhaust.

Cosworth Front Brakes (why not, people have done it before and they will look great behind the black wheels as calipers will be silver)fair enough, maybe overkill on a 950cc car that doesnt weigh a great deal. An xr2 brake setup would of been prefect and can be done at a low cost.

Pretty much a crime on base spec models due to how rare one is with a decent body, adding whats basically a rust trap doesnt help a car which will rust very easily.

Sunstrip (So what its not like it cant be changed, i like it other people do too)
this on its own is fine apart from the lettering, people know what car it is with it.

Seats - it would be nice to see something the same age as the car in the car. I have bought 90 spec recaros in decent enough condition for 50 quid in the past.

mdf door cards, aint seen the pics of that but they can't look good surely! A few of the guys over on xrtwo have used black plastic stuff (can't rememeber the name but have a search).

I think this is almost at the stage of internet Bullying now, I did read this thread a few weeks ago with a grin on my face & thought it relatively funny banter... but lately is has a nearly sinister & nasty tone to it... just let the lad be a little, cut him some slack eh. ??? it is his car afterall and he is at least keen to keep his thread going & show us all what he has done.....

Maybe the best way would be to just ignore it.. Some of the "mods" done are impossible to ignore though.
