Ive been trawling the net and found out that rst brakes dont fit
apparently Escort cosworth or Sierra 4x4 calipers are the only ones that bolt straight on

Whats involved with regards to sorting new fuel pump when fitting a zetec as this is where ill get stuck.
ye i still do want an engine but i can get 1 over here for the same price with loom.
My mam n dad said i cant fit a bigger engine unless i tell the dvla. dont think so
ill have to wait till october till they go on hols

use an escort rs turbo fuel pump they mount to the floor on a cradle so only need a feed pipe (around 15 mm ) from the tank very easy to wire up use a fuel pump wiring loom from a cossie, msd sell them

Is a 1.7 puma engine a good easy start for a conversion, this engine comes in cheap and has alternator, starter, box, all manifolds, loom, ecu and engine mounts.
Would my 4 speed gearbox mate up with this engine as even if i got a 1.8 zetec i would use the 4 speed box for a while as im sure it would be fun with it on, not bothered about top speeds
comments please

Dont go with the puma engine, more hassle than its worth, just go 1.8 zetec ot'll be far easier and its a conversion loads of people have done to mk2 fiestas
And yes you can still run the 4 speed box with the 1.8 zetec
Oh and dont be a cunt, get it the engine declared otherwise your effectively running with void insurance, failing that wait till you can actually afford to do this

This did make me laugh
some of the comments on here are well harsh so what if the car is a colour an xr2 never came in and it has a cherry bomb exhaust and scooby seats with a ridiculous sun stripe
the guy is young with his first car it's his car his cash etc at least he aint used a wall tree or whatever to modify it in a unreversable fashion like many people do

You cannot be serious....you will be looking at house deposit money for your insurance, if you do a conversion on your car...
Be content with your 1.1 rattle can engine for now..get some ncb's behind you and then go for a conversion...
I don't even think its six months yet since you past your test..
