Default mk3 escort estate,RWD, rs1600i style to be....

got anew project today so thought i would share some pics, have spoken about it b4 in different threads so hear it is
my bro inlaw brought this 18 years ago as a rotten mk3 escort, back then he turbo'd it with xr3i looks & cossie wheels
after blowing up afew engines he desided he wanted to do something different,
so he source some peice's & got cracking, have no pics of this because it was 15 years ago also he changed it to mk4 front as thats what most people did back then.
by this time(around 6 years ago) it was ready for the kit, was alot of differnt bodykits out,max power looking stuff(crap) so thats what he went for,
all that was put on then since its sat at the paint shop outside for 5 years unpainted & getting worse
so today my bro inlaw rang me up saying he is going to get it back, take of some parts & scrap it
no way i said, well im happy cause its now sat on my drive waiting for some work (alot)
he gave it to me to finish of for free
so im happy & im wanting to put it back to mk3 front(i think) also make it a combi van as i have some geniune combi panels
afew pics:thumb:
collecting from the paint shop

bonnet is going

metal roof spoiler which i like

& the best part for me.RWD,did have a cossie lump in there but it now sits in his other cossie

cosworth running gear.

arches widened for the width of the sierra

4 pots

cossie rears

would of looked like this but its not my thing

& the side skirts

all the kit is coming off ,i kno it terriable lol
oh will be a long term project as ive got a 3dr sierra im rebuilding,a mk3 cortina to rebuild(maybe get shut) a missus & 3 kids
so there you are, another rwd escort

cheers mate
you are right ,it would & as rs1600i style to (imo),most end up s1 so may go this 16i route
the only problem is ill have to widen the front arches so the panel sits over the wheels,it does have s1 arches on now blended in to look like standard archs,i could always use them, will see what happens

cheers lads
does have rust inside but ill sort it,needs to plates on it i think aswel

i kno its easy to mk3 it mate but what i mean in alot of work is the front arch's need widerning to sit over the front wheels like they have been done if ya get what i mean.
i want it to be standard looking but would just be easy to stick s1 kit on, i reckon 16i would be cool tho, need rear archs, rear lower panels & back panel as these got cut off
be easier just to buy complete mk3 escort for the bits

been doing afew bit when ive had time.
my sis found this old pic when it was turbo'd

she still hasnt looked through her disc for any other pics as she due to give birth.
now the ice/snow has ****ed off i got it cleaned out as the painter filled it with crap
floor inside is mint just abit of rust patch's but will clean off
theres abit of rot on the inner sill's to sort aswel

clean up alrite

i changed the boot as the other one was smoothed & im not into that, also put some glass in it so it can stay dry
did try a combi panel too,but could'nt be arsed to get welding out

also moved onto concrete so can drop the running gear off

started to get afew bits aswsel, ebay bargins

mint bonnet for a tenner

& the other nite i felt like doing abit so got the grinder out

one gay side skirt off lol

going to replace the sill too as they not that great, more rust , water got into them, thats ****ing panters for ya,leaving it outside
